I have been reading about the New Gods / Fourth World stuff and it sounds pretty mad stuff in a simialr kind of vein to Warlock.
Can anyone tell more about it, if it has been collected, and (if you know me) if you think I will like it.
It all sounds pretty mythological and dramatic.
The book I was reading (Our Gods Wear Spandex) also mentioned Captain Victory (I think that was the title) which was supposed to be the sequel to it but was not for Marvel so the original names could not be used. The author also puts forward the idea that it was the model for Cameron's Aliens - although I really see a lot of Heinlein's Starship Troopers in that myself. Still, I am not sure which of those came first, so one could have influenced the other anyway.

Ah New Gods / Fourth World stuff, is it in a similar kind of vein to Warlock.
Well no, its is mad but not in a mad way, if you catch my drift, Kirby created some really cool shit during this period, but unfortunately it really wasn't as good as it could have been, interesting but not mind-blowing. _________________ The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity. |
