So,
Excited as I am about LXG 3 and The Black Dossier I thought I would start Fantasy LXG.
So, pick a century and then the LXG team who would be active in it.
I would think the rules are that the League members can be from any form of fiction but their stories must take place in the "real world". _________________
The Alamanc is a rather dense read, I grant you that, but IMO they are worth persisting with. I guess the Black Dossier will follow suit.
Do you have the Jess Nevins unofficial companion books (they're barely unofficial, as both books have introductions by and blooming huge interviews with Alan Moore, as well as contributions from Kevin O'Neill)? _________________
I've been pondering this for the last 24 hours and can't think of enough characters to form a League.
Lucifer Box from Mark Gatiss' The Vesuvius Club/The Devil In Amber is one. I suppose I'd also say the Doctor, but he's easily capable of handling things on his own. _________________
CyNic, KirbyHands (who I know is registered but has not posted yet -nudge- ) and I were talking about this for hours today so -
Top ones I think from today as follows:
(This is books only, as if you include characters from other media it just gets too much)
Dr Quatermass
Flashman
Mowgli
Pennywise the Clown
Dr Gonzo
Edmund from the Narnia books but grown up now
Mary Poppins
The child catcher (from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang)
The man with x-ray eyes
The illustrated man
Yossarian
That's enough for now - but have loads more
Very keen to include Mr Benn if tv characters are allowed _________________
Odd Thomas, Supernatural Psychic from the Stephen King books
Elvis Cole and Joe Pike flashy hollywood Private Detectives from Robert Crais books
John Rebus, dour Scottish Detective from the Ian Rankin books
Pandora, female Vampire from the Ann Rice books
Titty Walker from Swallows and Amazons by Arther Ransom
Everybodys favourite nut job, Haninbal Lector, from the Thomas Harris books
And.......
ok just been thinking of an early medieval one, one may have to fiddle around/change dates of some of these but they all could (if one where smart) fit.
1.Robin hood (and his band of out laws)
2.Brother Cadfael (and maybe is sidekick)
3.Brynhilder
4.Merlin
5.sir brian De Bois Guilbert
6.sinbad the sailer
7.guts the black swordsman
if i can think of it i may do one for the tudor times and a dark ages one, as web of fear says, the jess nevins books are well worth it and a 3rd should be out soon.
