I saw this last night and thought it was rather good silly fun. I didn't really mind that there were a couple of comedy scenes in there that may have been a bit "forced" as such. Frankly, after several years of po-faced Trek, the franchise needed an adreneline injection.
The new cast did an admirable job, and presumably we can all sit back and await the sequel. _________________
Did Jeph Loeb write the script for this movie? It honestly feels like it. When the film ended, I was close to ripping my face off at how idiotic and nonsensical this movie was.
I don't want to elaborate too much because:
a) My mind has built up defenses against such stupidity.
b) My language will likely get moderated.
But I can say this much. The second act features young Kirk rolling a car off a cliff. That's how stupid this entire film is.
