Anyone know off the top of their heads the artist for Uncanny X-Men around the time of the Onslaught saga? That was some of the best art in X-Men and was part of the reason I got into it.

I didn't say I didn't know - I just thought it might make a nice change for the Boy Wonder to feel useful...

Joe Madureira originally left Marvel after Uncanny X-Men 350 and was one of the three fore-runners for then-Wildstorm imprint, Cliffhanger, alongside Humberto Ramos (Crimson) and J. Scott Campbell (Danger Girl).

He produced nine issues of a series called Battle Chasers (eight with Wildstorm, the ninth with Image) before discovering that the lure of the PlayStation was too much for him to handle and the then-ongoing series vanished, and subsequently sunk, without a trace. Since then, he's produced a couple of covers here and there for various comics, gaming magazines etc etc.

Now... he's back at Marvel and is the new series artist for Ultimates 3. Jeph Loeb recently reported that he's finished the first issue... some 18 months after Joe Mad was assigned the project. Marvel plan to announce later this year when we may expect to see Ultimates 3. Which may or may not be before the next millennium.
