I went to see bloc party at leas cliff hall at the weekend, they were awesome, the whole thing was awesome, i liked the new album tracks and the old ones were AMAZING as usual.
I know at least someone else went from here, i saw it mentioned. I was wondering what you thought or if you have been to any gigs recenetly or are planing in the near future.
The last band i saw before that was the Makeshift Minstrels in Caseys, they were awesome, always are.
The next gig i'm going to is LCD Soundsystem in March at the Astoria.
Saturday 24th February, I get to see The Epoxies in The Engine Room in Brighton. I can't bloody wait. I've loved this band for about 2 years now, they're amazing. This is the first time I've been able to catch them in all that time.
Friday 13th April I'm going to see The Beat and Neville Staple in the Concorde 2. WOOO for Ska.
Sunday 15th April is the 5th Bi-Annual Brighton All Day Ska Fest at the Concorde 2 again. At the moment, I've got Hotknives, Too Many Crooks and 2nd Time Lucky. Can't wait to see who else is billed for that, I love the Ska Fest. 10 hours of skanking. PLUS. Its the day before my 19th. Could I ask for a better Birthday Party? Possibly, but I'd involve The Mighty Mighty Bosstones getting back together.
I'm also still holding out to see Fandangle sometime, hopefully they can get a show at the Beercart. If not I'll just have to treck somewhere to see them.
The Epoxies on Saturday! WOOHOO!
As well as, Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake are touring together in the summer, in America, hopefully when I do my Cross Country Tour of there. Honestly, there could not be a better gig that a fan could ask for.
Well, there could be, but it involves a band getting back together. _________________ Let There Be Lightning
well epoxies was a bit different tune, but generally can't stand Ska music, or as my old sig put it:
Rock pig don't like disco, rock pig don't like dance, rock pig don't like ambience, rock pig don't like trance.
Rock pig don't like R&B, Rock pig don't like soul, Rock pig just likes heavy duty bad ass rock n roll.
(now to find some room to include Ska....)
Though the 2nd Time Lucky song "Emo vs Ska" made me chuckle considering some of the music i listen to could be considered emo, like
Dead Poetic for instance, but most is just straight forward rock n roll just the way i like it. _________________ "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes." The Catcher in the Rye
