Well my gaming has gone from console to pc as the dip in gaming happens until the run up to christmas and after a summer of dissapointment im looking to the past to entertain me.

Sam and Max season one and two are nearly done for me with only half of  whats new beelzebub to finish. And for point and click fun i picked up the special edition of dream fall with the longest journey included. Seems fun but time will tell.

Getting into the red alert 3 beta from a friend who is away passing me his key is great fun but as we are finding (he used contacts to gain one himself) the same rules apply as most C&C game and specific build orders are the name of the game breaking it down into a slightly more extravagant game of chess.

Team fortress 2's heavy update was fun but until all the updates are out the game feels unbalanced.

Crysis coming expansion may prove to be fun for awhile but after starting FEAR: Extraction point again you realise how little fun crysis was in comparison. Nothing beats drop kicking a guy then blowing his mates head off through a window with a shotgun in slow motion.

Black and white 2 is proving a relaxing altrenative to the other games with a large selection of choices in game style. telling a giant wolf god to poo on a villager for the fun of it never hets old.

And i find myself missing immersion in gaming. When was the last time something really drew you in. Im not talking gears of war bloody ramage of death fun, I'm talking really be involved Shadow of the colossus style. A game where every 10 minutes is a huge gasp of air as it suprises you. It feels as if the console war (which is becoming dull) is generating bland after bland big name that doesnt push the boat out in case of stormy seas. Sony's big teams are working on big name tittles like god of war when these are the people that brought us ICO, the sort of game that made a console worth buying. The Wii keeps trying but you seem to get games that are fun for about two hours before your bored.

Immersion people this is what gaming needs. And if anyone has come across a rare gem that i might have missed this year or last that fills this critrea please let me know....

only a tech demo but this may be the kind of emerssion i have been hoping for from the makers of Farenheit (indigo prophecy to the americans)

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/10757.html

Called heavy rain, this is all in game graphics and exclusive (for the time being) to the PS3.

Here is more recent footage

Little big planet has been delayed, but i was in the beta testing and can only say good things, the fact someone made a metal gear and temple of doom level that were so acurately fun is amazing. As with any one else i can only complain about the heavy controls, but like others i feel this will be patched or maybe fixed now they have to delay.

Call of Duty 5 is another beta i have been involved in and have quite enjoyed it now that the level cap is 24. There is still a few bugs and balance issues but with every play it seems less and less important. However they are going to have to address them and do something amazing to ever make me feel that its going to be near as good ad call of duty 4.

Red alert 3 (guess what i beta tested for this too  Very Happy ) was actually quite fun and well balenced by the end of the beta, even if some of the japanese stratagies people (including myself) came up with were beardier than Karl Marx. Fun units with plenty to do for each race and an allstar cast for the single player could make this one the strat game to own this year. check out the link below for a video that shows just how seriously the actors took their work.

Dead space has been getting some seriously good reviews and amazing feedback which is nice to see as every other game i have followed as long as this one has turned out to be dissapointing. The best thing about it for me is the amount of background the designers have put into the game, so head down to WhateverComics and pick up the 6 part series that is the prelude to the game coming out this friday and im not sure if they have it but there is also a CG movie that follows on from the comic that is on DVD and Blu-ray.

On top of that this friday we have the long awaited Fable 2 and Farcry 2. Two big name games with big name budgets, both have a chance to take the gaming world by storm and take their place in history or suck major balls and be critisised by every living creature with an internet connection.

Expect reviews upon completion and assuming i have the money. For now i suggest anyone with a decent pc goes and buys Stalker Clear Skies and hopes it runs on their pc for a great game with a difficulty that will slap you harder than a unemployed drunk husband with a superiority complex. For the record the damn thing crashes after 5 seconds of gameplay on my uber rig, older rigs are apparently doing fine, so patch wiating for me.

It was exelent. I've compleated it twice, and I'm still playing it. Just so fun.

So, got my shinny X-Box 360, and a hand full of games, decided to hold back on trusting every single game into it as soon as i could to see what they were like and have been playing them one at a time.
Much to my regret i started with Blacksite which was a very ordinary 1st person shooter, and made me wonder if i had wasted my money.
completed that really really quickly, yawn.
next up was Bioshock, now that's more like it, only about a quarter into the game but it has some real depth to it, enjoying this one i am, has anyone played Thief? Visually Bioshock has a similar feel, an almost organic metal feel, coupled with 1950's sound and vision. just an observation i made.
i have Fables 2 to play next, followed by fallout 3, the darkness,(comic book one) and halo 3, that should keep me busy, assuming i find the time that is, Bah who need sleep anyway...

Two teaspoons of amphetamine crystals in my coffee instead of sugar then, that will do nicley sir, that will do nicely Laughing

Just finished Fallout 3 after 150 hours+

WOW!

Been playing Left 4 Dead a lot this holiday as well - lots and lots of zombie killing fun. The Witch is really scary though, had 2 dreams about her already!
