just watched the latest episode of torchwood, and enjoyed it, but there in lies a question, is that Owen a dirty F**ker or what, i mean first Gwen then the lost in time girl, is there nothing he wont do it to? not bad for an ugly B**tard is it.

Alright so the first series has finished. Final thoughts? I found the series a bit dissapointing. I know it wanted be a bit more mature than Doctor Who, but the "adult" aspect of the show just seem to amount to endless graphic sex references, and graphic violence/imagery, all of which seemed to be there simply for the sake of it, rather than driving the plot forward. I also don't like TV that's just horrible people being horrible to each other (and that's just the team Smile ).

I thought that the best bit of the last episode was hearing the TARDIS arrive to whisk Jack away (which doesn't say much about the episode).

I was also a bit stunned with the "Alien Fight Club" episode, given how much it seemed to take from, er, Fight Club.

Here's to hoping for more from season two.

Torchwood was soooo disappointing. The first couple of episodes were great, and then it just went downhill.

I think a large part of the problem is the 'adult' content.

24 is an adult series, but I don't think I've ever heard profanity in any of the episodes, nor has there been any sex. Not that I have a problem with them you understand - just that it feels out of place, and shoved in there solely to justify the 'adult' tag.

The other problem is Owen. He is a dreadful, dreadful character, and manages to kill most episodes and undermine their logic.

Take the finale for example: SPOILER!!!!!

He opened the rift TWICE, nearly destroyed the planet.

The shot his boss IN THE HEAD!

But Jack forgives him.

Er... in most places, if you nick some post-its, you get fired.

This guy can disobey orders repeatedly and murder his boss, but gets away with it.

The ending was cool though. About time there was some Doctor action.

One question: The creature that was unleashed on Cardiff. Was that the same thing that was chained up in the bowels of some planet in series 2 of Who?

I don't think it was the same thing from the Impossible Planet/Satan Pit episode you're talking about, but I think it was implied that there was some connection between the two creatures.

It also has really good hearing as Jack managed to attract it's attention with a single "hey" from some distance away, while it's busy trashing Cardiff.

Welcome BTW.

Cant argue with that.
it was the dancing and kissing that killed it for me.

that wouldn't have been the dancing and kissing you refer to would it
OY... BBC NOOOO,
I dont watch sci fi for this crap, get back to the good stuff the adult stuff in torchwood is cheap condescending and badly done.
on another note...
the actor who plays Captain Jack got Married in real life to another man, i dont have a problem with this, but can you please keep your personal problems at home, and NOT take them to work with you.

Yes and he also kissed him near the end of the show too.
But honestly if you start a body count form the begining to the end then yos it would seem that torchwood leave a trail of bodys wherever thay go and nobody is held accounable.
come on BBC if you are going to make an Adult Doctor Who spin off then pease dont insult my intelligence

Have to agree Batmanuel. When I watch sci-fi, I want to see sci-fi themes, as opposed to stories about repressed sexuality...

Any story can work as long as its well done.

We have already established that Cap Jack swung both ways in his Dr Who apperances - but it was tastefully done and a small part of a story.

However by all accounts it was done vey, very badly in Torchwood....
