He strangled his wife, then smothered his son, and then hung himself in his weight room.
roid rage is the early word.

Now that is something I wasn't expecting to read today.
I wonder what drove him to these actions. They're pretty extreme by any standard and, if this really is the case, why on Earth would the WWE given Benoit a tribute show? I can understand that he was an extremely hard-working, popular wrestler for them but the circumstances surrounding his death hardly warrant a tribute to him.

They only learned of the death hours before RAW was due to be taped. Apparently Chavo Gurrero got some strange textswhile he was getting ready and they called up the police in Benoit's home town and asked them to go have a look, that's when they found the bodies. At first it was thought that it could have been a robbery since the causes of death weren't released. it was only on Tuesday that the real details began to come out. Apparently WWE have been scaling back the tributes rapidly since then.
Thank god his other two kids weren't home at the time.

Isn't it always the early word when a wrestler is involved?
A damn shame.
He was a quality wrestler when at the top of his game.
Its terrible when anyone sinks to such depths yet always seems more shocking when it's "someone from the telly".
People say" Phff wrestling - it's all fake you know" yet the amount of athelets involved in the business that suffer from some sort of mental or physical breakdown is astronimical.
Must be the toughest "fake" business in the world.
Lets hope this does not destroy his other kids and someday they can move on from this tragady.

Its only the sickest individual who feels he needs to take someone with them when he commits suicide,
and no matter what their profession is there really is no excuse what so ever for this kind of behaviour,
it is beyond reason, and sickens me to the very core.

It is just plain odd though, shows you can never tell who's going to snap next or why.
Apparently some anabolic steroids were found at his home, though considering the size of the guy I'm not surprised.
And you're right CapO while it is Fake it is still harsh as hell on the wrestlers, look at Owen Hart and the guy who was once Prince Alberts sidekick.

The Chris Benoit story has made me think...
more wrestlers die young than rock stars.
surely there's something up in the universe.

Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Stu and Helen Hart, Chris Benoit...why is it always Bret Hart's inner circle?
Still shocked that it was Benoit. I could believe it from some other wresters, but Benoit always came off as being such a professional.
