Watchmen: International Edition CoverI saw this the other day, and frankly, what a load of pants. Gone is the iconic "smiley with a blood splotch" and replaced with a rather generic shoulder to shoulder superhero group photo.
I guess that it's designed to encourage purchase of the book ahead of the movie, but this doesn't stand out like the previous cover.
Then again, what do I know?

Yeah, you're right about the legs. Weird.
Doesn't have the elegance of the original cover that made it so iconic and different. But then I like my design minimalist.
They've printed 1 million copies, apparently.

one million copies eh!
I offered to make a substantial purchase of copies of the watchmen from diamond, (without going into numbers and discounts) no messing, no sale or return, just a good price so that i can compete with places like Zavvi who are banging out the Titan Editions cheap. (i am talking about an additional 99p discount here, not fivers)
I did get a reply, a lengthy one, which i punched holes in left right and centre when i replied to it, i also asked if they could stop insulting my intelligence, i am not the brightest bulb in the box, but bloody hell i would half need to be thick to swallow that explanation.
I think he said No? but he did finish the email saying that one can only hope that the public would continue to value our expertise and continue to return even if our prices were more.
i replied that if they didn't, then guess what Tinkerbell, we will both be out of a job.
So its a one hundred thousand copies for us, and nine hundred thousand copies for them then.
And they say that they don't cream the milk, Tsh.

Ok, rumor, along with changing the end of the movie it is rumored that all copies of the international edition is to have the last four pages removed and replaced with...

you should have seen young Rascals face when i told him this in the shop, i thought the poor boy was going to turn green and shout RASCAL SMASH PUNY PUBLISHERS
Incidentally, the bit about movie going public being thick which i have reported elsewhere is true, and was reported by Sky News.

OK .. talking about the movie going public ... I'm going to sit down to finally watch Iron Man on DVD tonight ... I know ... I don't get out much ... I sat through the new Hulk the other night and personally .. I preferred the other one ... this one was so rushed i really did care who died, lived or turned into a huge green monster ... the only flaw in the Ang Lee version for me was the whole Banner Senior turning into a pool of ... err ... stuff ...... oh yeah .. and the mutant poodles ... can't defend those ...

I really enjoyed 300 so ... maybe ... but the story is so much more complex ... would have made a great mini series ...

I actually thought that the Iron Man film really rocked, i haven't seen the new Hulk one yes so i cant comment.
300 was very cool,
and i hope that the Watchmen film burns in hell
