Unreal Tournament 3Epic have posted an Unreal Tournament 3 beta demo for all to download. All I have to say is you need a damn good graphics card judging from the screen shot here |

I've played it there are problems with the demo and you can't get online. The game looks very similar to gears with added shine, it's been delayed tell maybe next year now anyway cos loads of problems came up in the demo.
Go buy team fortress 2 instead, its the best online game i've played in years. |

Maybe they fixed the demo then as I got it and played it a few days ago and it ran like a dream. All I could do was run round going OMFG, OMFG, OMFG!!!!!!!!!! UT really is "my game" though. Pre-ordered it and waiting for it to arrive on the 30th. Will probably get Gears as well. My PC is not top of the range by any means - not a dual core. |

Flak Cannon is my weapon of choice. What format you waiting for? We are getting it on the PC rather than the PS3 as I just think the PC does FPSs so much better with the keyboard and mouse. PC version is certainly supposed to be out on 30th November. I am off work then so am hoping for an eye bleeding few days with it undisturbed by having to make money and that sort of stuff. |

rumour is its still not coming out on time. Some tech issues with the single player.
I'm prob gonna gonna get the ps3 version simply because i am a fan of controller Fps and my pc won't run it for shit. I'll be pc with it when i move out, cos the guys i'm moving in with have uber pc's. I still argue i'm better with a pad than most people with keyboard and mouse. Just waiting for a game that lets me prove it |

I have received a "has been dispatched" notice from Play.com. And there is me with my holiday starting tomorrow 
FPS needs keyboard and mouse for me - would be nice to have a tv sized monitor though! Have you ever seen Xleague the games tv channel on sky (good effort, still slightly cheap!)? They had a joy pads vs keyboards tournament of Shadow Run and the joypads / xboxes won. Never played it myself though, so I don't know if that means anything. |

shadow run was built for both, i'm waiting for the COD4 cross over like they did with Cod2.
Yes the pc version is out tommorrow in spangley and non spangley edition. Ps3 version is next year now i think. However lead programmer has come out in defense of the ps3 to claim it might be harder to program on but the results are better than 360 when you get it right. we'll see. |

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo pretty.
Once you have got round the game pretending you have to have an online profile to be able to save campaign mode. Co-Op campaign mode is a very welcome addition. While I appreciate the attempt to explain why people are resurrected "there are respawners all over the city" - that doesn't make any more sense!!! 
Nothing more satisfying than the Flak cannon

For those that care, Epic have said that they are able to release limited supplies of the Ps3 version on dec 10th in america. Ps3's are region free so if your desperate then order one form over there, i will be | ||||

Is that really true then? I have heard it said but not tried any other region discs. Is there any downside to getting US games (resolution etc)? |

So I have a UK PS3 - will it be as flexible as the Japanese one do you think?
Also where are you ordering it from? I just looked at amazon.com and they will only ship it to US addresses. Do you know if you can buy a 2nd gun separately from anywhere as well? |

I run the local indie games store, we get this stuff in all the time.....or we don't for legal reasons  .
I know for a fact the english machine is region free aswell, i can't say for definate on the 40gb version as i haven't been able to play around with one, but i believe it still is. Secondary g-con3's are going to be a pain in the arse for a little while, give it a week or two. This is why i do the reviews, i'm in the know!

Where is x electrical then? I don't think it existed when we were students at UKC - or maybe we just didn't have enough money to come in! Was reading some pretty bad review of TC last night though. Also CyNic is left handed so whether or not we get it will depend on how easily the gun can be used by a leftie. |

no there is something they didn't consider in the re style of the gun. Well played, maybe sony will do left handed versions. I played TC4 at the arcade, tough as nails but so much fun.
X electrical is on burgate a bit further down from wetherspoons and a such. I would say opposite currys but i think that was somewhere else when you were down here. |

only reason i'd buy this game:
world recognised level editor... rest of the game: bunnyhopping fps boom fest of bordom... buy CoD if you want a good war game.. buy GoW if you want something epic.. and if you want the hover board... give e money to the one i'm making... i dont promise it will work.. but i'm trying... |

This is a nice forum so i won't say would i normally would to a person in my shop that uttered those words about unreal tourney. I will say this though......your so so wrong, there is nothing better than dominating someone in the face while hearing them shout obsenities down the mic. The diffrence with unreal is that the society is genrally made of better mannered players. The obsenities are normally aimed at themselves, i can't say this is always going to be true. Also any muppet can pick up COD4 and be good any mug can pick up gears of war and complete it on the hardest difficulty, any mug can pick up UT3 and get blown to buggery until you realise how much skill is needed to know how to react in every given situation. Camping snipers are going to get gacked, rocket people are going to get flaked and all round death will reign. UT3 the pro multiplayer FPS. More fun than a hit the chav with a stick competition. (not by alot mind you) |

Ok- but it's not a war game or an epic - it's a chance to run about and flak cannon people in the face while cackling madly...*ahem* Most cathartic But as Xeall says the really good players are really good. The beauty of the game is that you can play it as a beginner through to world class levels and still have a good time. Only disappointing thing about this version is it does not seem to have auto adjust bot skill when playing solo death match. Strategy / wargames - meh |
