Uncanny X-Men: Is It Any Good...?I've been reading an article about the X-Men: Manifest Destiny panel at last weekend's Heroes Con.
It wasn't a particularly informative article; however, it did get me interested in all things X-Men and made me wonder...
Is Uncanny X-Men any good...?
And, if so, would you recommend that I buy it...?
And, if so, why should I buy it...?

I would say that most of the x-men line at the moment is particulary strong.
I haven't read Uncanny in a couple of months but it seems like a good old fashion x men story, its got quite a few characters and I believe they are batteling an evil mutant, good old fashion fun. I don't think its the best at the moment.
Just read 2 issues of Legacy back to back, its really good as a Xavier/Mutant history story showing how one of the X men's biggest foes life crosses with Xavier's childhood. I'm enjoying it a lot to be honest.
The rest [that i'm reading] are all pritty top notch too, X-Factor is stil as great as ever, X-force is really cool and actually quite dark, Young is alright for what it is I don't much like the artwork but the story is going somewhere I like. Cable however is a bit poo, its reading far too quickly and going absolutely nowhere and not being that much fun with it.
Im brief, if you want to read an X men comic Uncanny wouldn't be that bad a thing to pick up.

I would read Uncanny and X-Force.... in fact I do! I'm not hugely enamoured with the current Uncanny story but the art is good.
X-Force is particularly keeping my interest, the art is fantastic and the story seems to be well thought out.

The X series of comics is either one your gonna buy the lot too or one your gonna stay away from. Personally I jumped back in during endangered species and have been unable to escape ever since. Personally although x-force has been amazing the one title i suggest over others is X-Factor and i never thought i'd be saying that.
Great writting, awesome art and a story line linked to the marvel universe and x comics. Old school readers will love it. Uncanny hasn't been bad it just feels like you need all x comics to keep up. With a new x-men saga coming up my previous statement is even more valid as they always refer to each other

Now who would have thought it, Amazing and X-Force used in the same sentence.
But i have to agree with Xeall on this, it has been a pretty good book, just read the ain't no dog special
the only thing missing from the new X-Force title is the MAX imprint being added to the cover.

Add MAX and I would say X-force was the best, I relly liked the end of the last issue, and the fact that they are doing 'silly little things' like ain't no dog.
X-factor has been strong since the get go and hasn't really let up, although I feel this recent Arcade run was a tad weak the ending more than made up for it.
I do feel that Uncanny is good but a tad weaker than the above two, and stick by whats happening in Legacy being both fun and engaging, but its just not a Superhero comic at the moment, which i'm fine with but wasn't expecting that from one of the big 2 X titles.

It's two months on... and Uncanny X-Men 502 is due to ship this week.
Has Uncanny X-Men been any good, specifically 500 & 501...?
I've read several positive reviews on these two issues and also one that was extremely negative.
Any comments would be useful as I'd like to know if these are worth my time before the weekend when I make my monthly trek to a fine comic book trading establishment situated in Canterbury's main thoroughfare.

It's interesting the direction they've taken the X-Men in terms of location but 500 and 501 while being good issues aren't anything spectacular. If anything they're returning a little bit to storylines of old.
