Ultimate avengers

Best news ive heard in ages (when they announce the lineup dont read it, skip it tells you a major plot spoiler of ultimates 3, if anyone cares anymore anyway)

http://uk.comics.ign.com/articles/908/908687p1.html

however followed by two bit of bad at the end of the article

1. Ultimates 4 is going to be written by ultimates 3 team.
3. Ultimate fantastic 4 and x-men are getting the chop.

with ultimatum appreantly designed to shake up the ultimate universe leaving us with 3 titles one of which i disgraceful and the other being new, whats the point?
Robin The Boy Wonder

This doesn't surprise me at all.

Joe Quesada has always stated that the Ultimate Universe should remain small and never once threaten the long-term stability of the primary 616 Universe. He always liked the idea of maintaining a set of four core Ultimate titles with the occasional mini-series thrown in for good measure.

More interestingly, CB Cebulski revealed that Marvel are currently using the Ultimate titles to test out potential future ideas for the mainstream titles. An intriguing, albeit disturbing, thought...

I had heard that Millar was returning to the Ultimate Universe although I can't help but feel we now have two Avengers-derived titles in Ultimates and Ultimate Avengers. The latter will almost certainly outsell the former; however, the former should be the primary title of the Ultimate Universe in my opinion.

As for the choices in titles... and I know some may not like this but...

Ultimates sells really well, despite the fact there has been a very strong backlash against the title and Loeb in particular. I have to admit it's not bad... but it's far from great. One of the reasons (if not the only reason) I buy the series is because I'm a huge fan of Joe Madureira. It's been suggested that the artist is probably the primary reason the title continues to sell as well as it does.

Loeb was always producing Ultimates 4, albeit initially with Ed McGuinness.

No surprise over Ultimate Spider-Man.

Same for Ultimate Fantastic Four. There's been rumour for some time now that Marvel were going to cancel the title.

I am surprised with regard to Ultimate X-Men; however, the title really doesn't perform anywhere near as well as it used to or when compared to its 616 brethren. I would suggest though the fourther Ultimate title will be a mutant title of some description though.

Does anyone know if the last (I think 4 was the last) Ultimate Human ever came out?

I think the last one we got was #3 and that was a long long time ago.
Longshot

Ultimate Human did end a while ago, it was Ultimate Iron Man II that took about 6 months for the final issue.

I think this is a good thing as the Ultimate universe [which was meant to be un troubled by continuity and timeline problems] seems to be going into a bit of a mess, and X-men seems to be going off on a tangent to its original presumed greatness

Well that's going to be a big "pass" then.  Sad

And today's lesson is, how to destroy a perfectly good comic book.
1: Give the original writer a full frontal lobotomy and cunningly suggest a title called Kick Bottoms.
2:
Ultimates 4 is going to be written by ultimates 3 team.
who have also had full frontal lobotomies.

3: Then again... there is John Byrne Wink

4: Ship it late Exclamation
