Hurruh,,, top gear is back Very Happy

Robin The Boy Wonder

Um, yes... and...?

...

Heh. Sunday nights are so cool now.

Top Gear.
24.
Lost (as of 11th Feb).

Can't get better than that! Very Happy
The Rascal King

11th?
Don't you mean the 7th?
Reaper

7th in America not over here.
The Rascal King

And I'll be dammed if I'm waiting those extra 4 days!
Plus, I don't exactly have a TV, so I pretty much need to watch it online anyway.
Woo!
Web of Fear

Top Gear is definitely back now. Clarkson's been upsetting people!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6324129.stm
The Rascal King

Heh. Wouldn't be the same without it.
Methinks my favorite thing was Clarkson in, was when he Guest Hosted "Never Mind The Buzzcocks".
Halfway through Juptis' and Bailey's banter, he sits back, sparks up a fag, and puts his feet up, throwing away the quiz notes. Smile
Batmanuel

Strange as it may seem, i was reading the very same news report posted by Web of Fear about an hour ago, and was considering posting it.
Ah, Great minds think alike.

so anyone need a tissue?

Hey you give me an issue and i will give you a tissue,
and you can wipe my ass with it Laughing
Web of Fear

Who saw the road trip across America?

Batmanuel

ME Bloody Hilarious,
best ever Top Gear,
Red Neck: "hey you there, are you all Gay or do you want to get beaten up"
Clarkson: I'm not Gay, i'm Married (as if that’s an excuse)
Red Neck: "i'm gonna get the boys"
Clarkson: "RUN" Laughing

oh and the road kill, Laughing Laughing
Web of Fear

Not forgetting Clarkson's in car shower!
Robin The Boy Wonder

And don't forget those other classics:

Clakrson finding the jacket of the last guy who was murdered in his car...
Big Stig...
The race to see who quick they can accelerate up to 50mph, and then brake... before they land in a pond full of crocs!

Yep. Best. Top. Gear. Ever.

And on tonight's beast: According to the TV paper, they're gonna try and get a Robin Reliant into space!!! Shocked
Web of Fear

It's on YouTube!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKz4QgVQBHI
The Rascal King

Oh man. That was so classic.
I have to see them launch the 3 wheeler tonight.
The Rascal King

Missed it. Of course.
Oh well, watching the first one of Season 9, with Hammonds crash.

"Had an accident at work? Don't drive a jet car at 300mph then."
Robin The Boy Wonder

Top Gear's repeated twice this week. I know it's on Saturday 7pm on BBC3 and repeated on BBC2 as well sometime... but don't know when...
Web of Fear

Tonight at 7.00

Web of Fear

Who saw this week's show with the limos? I loved the way that the "stars" were not amused with their transport to the Brit awards! Laughing
The Rascal King

I saw bits and bobs down in the Penny. But then I was helping my mate do his FRTV advert, so I didn't see much.
Robin The Boy Wonder

I saw it. I loved Lemar's reaction to May saying that 'most people would turn left here but I think if we turn right...' speech and then calling Captain Slow a 'jerk'. Very Happy

As for Billie Piper, she's becoming a complete dog ever since she left Doctor Who, isn't she...?

It's just such a big shame that the series has to end already... Sad
Batmanuel

Well its back, and with a vengeance, not only do our three cavaliers try to sail the channel in CARS, but the actually manage to succeed, well one of them anyway.
And openly flout the smoking ban with their Porsche Pipe, excellent entertainment Laughing

Welcome Back Top Gear Very Happy
Robin The Boy Wonder

Twas most excellent!

I just love the way May looks so at home in those chairs... and how Fifth Gear set fire to the Top Gear storage!

Just one thing... WHERE IS TOP GEAR DOG?!?
Web of Fear

Maybe the dog was lost in the fire too....
Batmanuel

What Billie Piper ?.... oh you mean The Dog, yeah what happed to the dog? I reckon the Stig ate it Laughing
Web of Fear

Who saw last night's episode? Clarkson in the tiny car was briliant! Laughing

Oh can a mod move this thread to the TV section please?
Batmanuel

Yes i did, and the little car was hilarious, did you notice it nearly went over when he was going round that corner, yes it should be moved to TV, i will get on to it Smile
Web of Fear

It looked terrifying driving the tiny car down the street! That said, I'd quite like one of those cars.

How is it that segment was much cooler than the Varon racing the Eurofighter? Confused
Batmanuel

I don't know, but it was, maybe the giggle factor of seeing Clarkson trying to get into the bloody thing Smile
I would wont one fitted with a V8 Laughing Laughing with go faster stripes Cool

but thats what i Top Gear, you just don't know what they are going to do next.
Web of Fear

Maybe John Humpheys and Fiona Bruce made the section cooler too. Wink
waffle

I actually turned it off the other night because Hammond was annoying me so much. I used to like him, but not now - he talks crap and looks like a hairdresser.
Xeall

I thought it was friggin hilarious! Oliver for the win!
Lance

i hate cars but i think top gear is hilarious.
Batmanuel

I love Cars, but cant watch most of the motoring shows because they are total crap, (there's only so much i can take from that pompas prat Tiff Needell, and that stupid cow Vikki Butler)
But Top Gear, well its proper men behaving badly chaps Show, Laughing
Robin The Boy Wonder

'Some say he's watched The Lion King 138 times...

...and that his second best friend is a water buffalo!

All we know is... he's not called The Stig but he is The Stig's African cousin!'

Hilarious. I was in hysterics at this point. Laughing
Batmanuel

See Boy Wonder, See... your not all bad. Very Happy
Batmanuel

Well another season of top gear comes to an end Sad , but it was still highly entertaining, that little blue car takes on a mustang....and wins.
Then they blow it up, and did anyone notice the bikini clad Miss Stig in the pool, quality entertainment Smile
Batmanuel

Top Gear is BACK....Yay

This time they take on the humble Police Car Laughing

Ah... at last, something for me to watch Smile

This really is the best Motoring show, ever. fifth gear? na... its shit, ans tiff needell should play with the traffic on the M1,and Viki Butler should either...
1: take up making Porn Movies. (i would buy a film with VB on an exhaust, wow, BIG BORE, look at her go)
2: take up being photographed for Porn books.
3: appears on Top Gear as a (NUDE) star in a reasonably priced car.
4: do a cookery program for men, (in the nude) which explains different ways to reheat beans, prepare a cup of soup, and super noodles.
and all the while using a stove (and Microwave) which is placed on the floor, so some nice upshots then, yes!!!! Laughing

and even than, you wont get more viewers than Top Gear Laughing
Web of Fear

The usual lunancy, particulary Top Gear Stuntman's record breaking attempt.

The Police car challange was hilarious with the number of lights of Hammond's car and the wheel being ripped of Clarkson's.  Laughing
Batmanuel

Yeah, did you notice the look of fear in Clarksons face as the wheel was being ripped off.
for a second then, i think he thought "oh bugger, its not like the chariots on film is it"
No Jeramey, you looked like you were acually going to come a cropper.

only time i have seen him so worried is when he was running away from American rednecks with guns Laughing

Oh and i read in a motoring mag the other week that he an Piers Morgan really dont like each other

( apparently the Editor of a fleet street rag one Piers Morgan wrote something in his paper about Clarkson having it off with someone other than his wife)

so when they next met, Clarkson belted him, as in punched him in the mouth,  Laughing

now i dont condone violence in any shape or form, but when it comes to the gutter press, well all is fair, and i make an exception to the rule Wink
Batmanuel

Hammond and May to leave Top Gear?

Found this while surfing, can it be true:

Richard Hammond and James May's futures at Top Gear are in doubt because of an argument over salaries.

Their contracts run out at the end of the month, but they have not yet signed a new one leading to fears they may leave the show.

The report in the MediaGuardian revealed that the two stars were unhappy that their salaries weren't more in line with that of the shows main host, Jeremy Clarkson.

Clarkson has apparently negotiated a pay rise which includes profit share of Top Gear rights around the world.

A source told the Guardian: "Internally there is talk that there might be a chance for the first time that there could be a break up of the team, it has got that bad.

"There has been a lot of pulling out of hair, a Mexican stand-off. For the first time it is possible that one or both might leave. They don't want to accept second status anymore. There has been a meltdown in negotiations."

Personally i dont think that there should be a pay difference between these three, Top Gears success i feel is a combination of all ingredients.

Three blokes doing stupid shit things which involve cars (sometimes)

and the true success of the show is the sheer enjoyment they show while doing it.
Its like giving a Roller to a Bash Street Kid and telling him to go go karting in it Laughing

Still it was a great show while it lasted, and its not over till the fat lady sings.

but imagine, life with only Fifth Gear...Brr, scary.
Batmanuel

Any fears of life without Top Gear are now completely behind us as the new series has been announced Very Happy
And although the Gordon s of the world want us all to use Diesel cars which are not as Green as one would think, i myself am doing my bit for the Greenies, and have just placed an order for the 17.2 lite W32, 512 variable valve 1000 bhp Muscle car.
this two door saloon has all the available space taken up by the engine which eats fuel at am alarming global warming level of Chernobyl and offers 32 fpg (that's feet per gallon)
and do i care...
NO!!!
why?
Because its bright f**king orange that's why, oh and it looks cool too, and it goes very fast, so F&$k you Laughing
Web of Fear

It's back tonight, and here's a good reason to watch it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7704928.stm
Batmanuel

Wow a post on Top Gear that wasn't placed by me, You have just restored my faith Web old bean,

but did you watch it? he is clearly insane.

so what shall we do this week lads, I know, i am going to drive a king great lorry, no, make that an articulated lorry into a brick wall at top speed Smile

That will be fun, wont it boys... boys why are you running away?

It was highly entertaining, and was a great start to the new season,
i am going to watch it again on wednesday just for fun.
Web of Fear

I did indeed, and thought the truck segment was another act of inspired lunancy - Rig Stig, a piano propped up with a year's supply of porn, Clarkson's trailer on fire and of course driving through brick walls.  Laughing

Welcome back!
Web of Fear

One episode in, and there's already complaints!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7707641.stm
Robin The Boy Wonder

I think it's absolutely ridiculous.

If you're easily offended by Jeremy Clarkson, then the answer is quite simple. Don't tune in to Top Gear.

The other thing I find amazing is how this made the news at all considering the low number of complaints compared to the 7 million who watched it.

Oh... and on GMTV when they were discussing the complaints, they provided three cases of serial-killing and murdering lorry drivers.

Point proven, then!  Very Happy
Batmanuel

Well i think that if the lorry drivers are offended by this its because it may be close to the truth, exchange the word murder for pay Laughing

Rock n Roll Jeremy, keep em coming Very Happy
Robin The Boy Wonder

Move along, please...

Nothing remotely entertaining here!  Very Happy
Batmanuel

Ha! a V8 blender, for making Meat smoothies! i want one Laughing Fucking tax that Gorden Razz
Robin The Boy Wonder

Things to do with a Ford Fiesta:

Race away from the bad guys in a Corvette in a shopping centre!

Join the Army in a beach landing!

Classic!

Otherwise, anyone agree with me that last Sunday's episode was ever so slightly boring? The Russian cars segment seemed to last forever...
Reaper

The russian car section amused me, not as much as Boris Johnson though
Batmanuel

Boris Johnson is such a Dick, he was quite funny though.

As for Top Gear not being up to its usual standard, i think Clarkson hinted at it in the part where he said "it seems that i have come to the bit where i cant say what i mean to say"

I had noted a sudden drop in entertainment value on top gear since the Ross and Brand thing, BBC it would seem are cleaning up the shows with the threat of having your genitals Fed to Clarkson's V8 Blender.

I would like to feed Gorden to Mr Clarkson Blender while saying, Say hello to my BIG gas guzzling friend Laughing
waffle

I think it has got a bit more blokey in recent weeks. All that stuff yesterday about wizard's sleeves and pork swords was more suited to Nuts TV than Top Gear!

And the interviews now?! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

They may as well wheel Parky on for 10 minutes if all we're going to get is bumlicking boring crap about their new CD. Tom Jones? Didn't he used to be famous?
Web of Fear

I thought that last week's episode was good, with the Boris Johnson segment, as well as the Fiesta and the Communistical cars.  This week's not so such.

I do think that this season as been a bit more hit and miss, and a particular low was the Mark Whalberg interview (including a movie clip).  Obviously, a few guests due to see Jonathan Ross have been moved to Top Gear.
Robin The Boy Wonder

Yeah, the interviews haven't been great.

Boris Johnson is great entertainment value because he is Boris Johnson. I used to really enjoy watching him when he was chairing Have I Got News For You? Tom Jones and Mark Wahlberg both looked uncomfortable, especially Wahlberg, who really was only there to plug a film few would have any interest in.

Otherwise, the best interview this season by far was with Will Young: 'You look really fit... Oh, that's come out all wrong, hasn't it?'

Interesting segment on the new Honda though. Could this car represent the future of driving...?
Batmanuel

Ah, Top Gear is back, this weeks episode which was broad casted after the 9 0'clock watershed seemed to be back on form and actually had me laughing very loudly, and welcome back things you can do with an obsolete V8 engine.

the apology to the Morris Marina owners club was as good if not better than the apology to truckers, as in unrelenting,

one of the highlights for me was the David and Goliath touring car coverage, the Top Gear Awards were hilarious, and the constant banter between the three musketeers, Captain Slow chats up a bird, "hello" and Clarkson chats up a young "fit" man, oh and that little bloke, whats his name? you know, the one with the hair Smile
oh, and what about the hydrogen fuel cell car, sure as hell beats chopping down the rain forests to produce palm oil for bio fuel, and plugging your electric car into the mains to charge it with electricity produced by either coal or nuclear stuff? neither of which are not at all very green but stand to make a few individuals very very very rich.
Robin The Boy Wonder

Which is probably why the hydrogen car will fail.

There's not as much money in saving the planet as there is in killing it (and I'm not even that much of an environmentalist - I do it because it saves me money).

I loved May chatting up a girl. I'd skimmed that when it was first broadcast; seeing it again now in a new light was staggeringly funny.

Bring on the Vietnam road trip!

Hello.
reddevilggg

Went to watch Top Gear getting filmed. I was in the audience in the episode when Clarkson raced May and Hammond in Japan on the Bullet Train. You can see me on the TV, it was dead cool. Now I know why there is no children allowed, very adult humour in between takes. An excellant day out, well worth the 3 year waiting list.  Very Happy
Web of Fear

Cool!

Welcome to the forum.
reddevilggg

Thanks, this site has been in my bookmarks for ages, but this was not running last time I looked, I think.

Anyway, great site, keep it up!!!
Robin The Boy Wonder

A three-year waiting list!!!  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked

To be honest, it doesn't surprise me...

Anyhow, welcome to the forum, reddevilggg. May I commend you on your avatar; 'tis very cool indeed!  Very Happy
Batmanuel

You Jammie Git.

No sir no Jam involved, it was a waiting list.

Shit three years, now that's commitment for you.

Knowing my luck, i would wait for three years and the episode i get to be in the audience is the one that guest stars Vikky Butler and effing Tiff needle dick, with Gorden Brown as the star in a reasonably priced car.

Welcome aboard Very Happy
Web of Fear

It's back tomorrow!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVCUXnk3SSo
Batmanuel

Great stuff, i have missed watching my one hour of tele a week.
Batmanuel

James May was on Jonathan Ross this week, which was quite entertaining, did anyone see his Space thing?
Anyway he was accompanied by Vivian Westwood talking about all things green, (Yawn) and Rufus Wainwright, and even bigger poof on a piano that the four poofs put together!
Web of Fear

Caught a bit of James May talking to Jonathan Ross.

Quite like the new series so far.  The cheap car reviews, the race against the train, and of course Michael Schumacher is The Stig (or is he).

Two work colleagues went to the filming of the episode with The Stig "reveal" and were sworn to secrecy.

The advert is rather funny too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=653YzsMXojE
Batmanuel

The Advert was an excellent find old bean, nice one.

This weeks Focus RS... oh i so want that car...pant...pant.

and the pretty little blond they allowed to drive the car in a reasonably priced girl... oh hang on, i may have got that wrong Laughing

anyway i watched an episode of fifth gear the other day. i love cars but had all but given up on fifth gear as it seemed to be losing its identity, that and the irritating Vikki Butler is even more irritating than Tiff the nerd needel, (and i don't care if i may have spelt his name wrong)

Where in the past 5th has given us some interesting head on collisions filmed in real time, and shown the everyday danger of being side swiped by a lorry.
the difference between avoiding an obstacle at speed with electronic stability controls switched on, and then with it switched off used to be entertaining and educational.

the latest episode of 5th gear that i watch had Tiff and the other prick (i cant even remember the name, he made that much of an impression) running around a field racing TANKS!!! yes fucking TANKS, and behaving like naughty little boys to boot.

Shit, if i want to watch this kind of entertainment being done well i will watch Top Gear, still i had nothing else to do at the time as i was taking a well earned rest for saving the world as.... woops, nearly got me, ho-hum, i didn't say a word Smile
