Final fantasy tactics - Lions war (psp) - 5th oct

A remake of a game that never hit the uk, hailed at the time as the best tactics rpg of all time, it still has a right to hold that tittle. Grid based battle system replaces the random battles of ff tradtion, no exploring worlds as the game is based off a text based system. Possibly the most engaging FF plot of all time i still can't get my head round it all. New additions include upping the jobs choices to 22 with onion knight and Dark knight, Balthier from FF12 as a playable character (thats with Cloud still there) and many new battles and plot development played out through all new Animated cut scenes. Get it, you won't regret the 40 hours + you put into it.

Metriod Prime 3 - corruption (wii) - 26th oct

I personally don't believe this is going to be a huge jump from trhe gamecube versions, however that isn't necissarily a bad thing. The return of Dark samus with space pirates probably means ridley is in there somewhere to and you'll lose all your stuff to have to find it all again in silly places! I do enjoy metriod games and i'm sure this one will be good i just wished for something more. The purpose of this game truly is to show that fps can be done on a wii remote setup and doing that will be an achievement in itself.

Pro evolution soccer 7 (Ps3, 360, Ps2) 26th oct

The best fooball game in my opinion and my opinion is great. A whole new engine for next gen mean more realism in physics and player control means a true step into sports games for the future. Yes it doesn't have the licencing for alot of the big teams but team name can be changed in the options menu. This is where i'll be in 3 weeks.

5 games for £40? Yes please. Half-life 2, episode 1+2, portal and team fortress makes this the best £40 you wil spend this month. I won't got into to much detail or i'll be here all day. Half-life 2 one so many awards it not true and with updated graphics and physics....well enough said, episode 1+2 are the respective follow ups in the story and well worth the time, Portal is a puzzle game based off the new portal gun in Episode 2 and looks amazing, Team fortress 2 is the original capture the flag game (also the founder of rocket jumps) and with a cartoony look it means great fun all the family to wonder where you've gone.

Sony have hyped this game like crazy early on and then died out, which makes me suspect. However i did really like what i saw, it looked very much like medievil which just takes me back to a happier time in gaming when i didn't analyze the frame rate,or partical effects, i just enjoyed it. Your Fred, you can detach and use diffrent types of head...give it a go if you want something old school with a new school feel.

The only skating game that has come out to fight Tony Hawk off the top spot, from the look of things its done it. More Realistic than the moon physics of Mr Hawk, skate has a harsh learning curve but lush graphics and great fun for those looking for something new in a skating genre you once enjoyed years ago.

God it pains me to do this, this game sucks (sorry Spidey). Built for 6 year olds that watched spiderman 3 and thought it was awesome, spiderman friend or foe is a bastardisation of everything we love from the wall crawler. You can't even web swing properly, you fire once then drop to the floor! AARRRGGHHH, the only reedeming feature is the comdey in the intro i posted above, which soon goes wrong when you realise its based upon the films and you weep. why stan why.

I shall bear it in mind for future posts however there really are no massive pc games worth note this month. No one wants to compete with episode 2, portal and team fortress

No you dirty git. I actually heard an intresting fact the other day about the welsh though (off tangent for the thread yet again):

In ye olde days (when Batmanuel was 10) it was a crime punishable by death to steal sheep in wales, so when these theives belived they were about to be caught they dropped their trousers and stuck their dick in the sheep, cos that crime would only get them a few years for being sick bastards.

I picked up an old Half Life Christmas special set the other week that Game were practically giving away to make room for the orange box. Half Life Source, Half Life 2, Episode 1, Team Fortress. Not bad for £19.

HL2 really is a hell of a game. The airboat level is one of the best sequences I've played since Deus Ex. Orange box is definatly worth a look if you've somehow missed it up til now.
