Superman Returns Sequel

Well it has been officially announced and given a title on imdb

Scooooore!
Web of Fear

Is there anything more "official" than the IMDB?
Robin The Boy Wonder

I wish they'd just kept the title as 'The Man of Steel'.

I think it's fairly safe to say that the general non-comic book buying public can associate Superman with that title without the Superman name in front of it. After all, isn't that the approach they're taking with The Dark Knight...?

Still, after recently seeing Superman Returns... woo... I'm so excited... Rolling Eyes

I couldn't be less excited about a film if I tried.
Robin The Boy Wonder

I don't believe you.

I'm sure you're busy right now getting your hands all wet and sticky from the excitement that a well-made Superman film offers... Wink

The only reason my hands are wet and sticky is cos I have a cold and have run out of tissuies!!!!

well that falls into my "i really didn't need to know that" catergory.
Robin The Boy Wonder

*Imagines CapO sitting at computer with a wet line of snot hanging out of his nose, dripping and oozing onto the keyboard while CapO's fingers spread the wet snot across all the keys...*

Hum. Why does that thought not sound pleasant...?

Why does it sound like you now have a new fantasy..... you sick, sick man!!!

Apparently Kevin Spacey has signed on for the Sequel, hopefully that won't mean we won't get to see a Super Powered villain come in.
Batmanuel

Mmmm Man of Steel, you know what, i don't care, The opportunity to do something Really great with SuperDupers was overstepped with the last movie, instead of being original, daring, and exciting with the last one, they went with a Christopher Reeve lookalike, a lackluster story, and loads of special effects, which did not help make it a better film, embarrassing really, if only, if only thet had watched Batman Begins before they started making it....Sigh.
waffle

Kevin Spacey was the only good thing about the last film, so it's a biiiiig plus point that they're using him again for the next film... oh actually, his missus in the film was pretty good as well.

I have heard a painful rumour that Supes himself might be played by Orlando Bloom though. I hope with every fibre of my being that this does turn out to be just a rumour!
Reaper

Tbh I can't see that happening, and I'm sure they would have signed Brandon Routh into a multiple film contract.
Seems I'm one of the few who did quite enjoy Superman Returns, it had its drawbacks but come on it wasn't Superman IV.
Longshot

I thoroughly enjoyed it, it had the charm of the old and it wasnt bolocks like spiderman.

They did something with the character, not just with his powers, and honestly not just with his character, they deveolped other people aswell.

I cant wait for the next one, but i do hope they bring in a SUPERvillan, with Lex there aswell, but not just Zod, mabey if i am the luckiest man alive it will be Braniac, or maby do a Batman, half and half between metallo and someone.
waffle

I reckon part of the problem is that I really hate Superman, I just think he's such a dull, dull, crap character.

Then again, I do still really enjoy the Reeve movies....
Reaper

Reeve did have a certain charm about him.

Anyhoo the writers to Superman Returns are now confirmed to not return for the sequel. There hasn't been any particular explanation for this but it could be to do with a majority of the audience finding the first one to be a little on the slow side.
That does mean that the sequel is definitely happening and will almost definitely be out in two years.

Edit: Just finished posting this and found something new

Mark Millar has decided that he really wants in, this from his blog....
Quote:

"It's 8.58am right now, my guys at CAA get into the office in about seven hours and my call will be waiting for them to talk about this. I want to revamp Superman like Hillary wants thin ankles. Revamping this franchise is what I as given fingers for and so, invited or not, I'm putting my plan together now. I've been asked to work on half a dozen screenplays lately, but this is the only one I have ever truly wanted.

As most here know, I have literally hundreds of pages of notes and sketches just waiting for this opportunity. This would be my dream gig and, as a fan, I know exactly what this project needs to work. This has to be Superman for the 21st Century, keeping everything we adore, but starting from scratch and making the kids love it as much as the 30-somethings. I would honestly write this thing for free.

Anyway, my treatment is being polished as we type. Wish me luck. I want to do that Superman movie we all want to see.

MM"
Robin The Boy Wonder

It would be a very cool thing if Millar were given the opportunity to write a Superman movie...

...but I'm not so sure Millar's dynamic 21st Century vision ties in with Warner's staid, meandering, one.
Xeall

RED SON! come on millar do it!
norsefire1

yeah i am with xeall do red son, it rules. i think batmanuel summed it up with what he said about the last film and where they should go with the next. not haveing luther as the main antagonist would be a good start, spacey was rubbish.
Reaper

I quite liked Spacey, particularly as he brought a really nasty element to Luthor
