What the hell is wrong with us? I've just noticed that we don't have a Spider-Man 3 topic. Sure, we've got talk about the new trailer, and Venom in it, but no official topic that I can see.
So, I'll start one here, and maybe CapO can merge the other 2 into this one.

Trying to avoid seeing anything of the film before it comes out but still I looked at the Spidey Vs Venom. looks cool Very Happy

Ah, well; there goes the theory about Venom being held back for Spidey 4... but that looks very sweet indeed.

But now I'm worried. Now that it seems clear Venom will be playing an active role in Spidey 3, how effective can the film be in giving adequate screen time to its other villains (Sandman & Harry Osborn)?

The last comic film that tried that was Batman & Robin...

I don't know; it should be a damned good film. I've got a lot of confidence in Sam Raimi to pull it off. I just hope we get a good character piece in the same way we did with the first two films.

Sandman will be taken care of in an hour and a half. He'll be introduced first thing, and when Spidey gets the suit and faces him, that'll be it.

Remember when we thought we had this movie pegged?

Now it's becoming unpredictable... and I like it. Y'see, there has to be a clear build for a Venom vs. Spidey fight so one would assume that Peter has to remove the Venom suit during the middle third of the movie so that the last act can focus purely on the Venom angle.

That leads to other questions: How soon will Peter have the black suit? Will he start the movie wearing it? What about Harry Osborn? It's clear he plays a villainous role in the movie but how big is his role? Sheesh! This is giving me a headache!

And we haven't even thought about the Gwen Stacey angle.

This is a big part of why comic movies so often disappoint. You're not supposed to think about superhero stories.

As for Gwen Stacey, I will put money on her being used as temptation for naughty-black-suit-wearing-Peter.

I can just see MJ tossing her hair off her face as she looks sadly over her shoulder at Peter and says "Whats come over you? You've changed..."

I really really wish they had picked someone else to play MJ, Kirsten Dunst good actress, but for MJ was a tallish, long legged red haired beauty. Not a shortish, red haired puggy faced, maybe a little bit beauty.

Nothing wrong with Kirsten Dunst. There's only one problem with her - small boobies! Very Happy

...maybe that's two things then...

And I sincerely hope the villains don't all team up. That's been flogged to hamburger in previous films from another franchise. I quite like the idea of overlapping threats. Spidey deals with The Sandman, then Harry and then, finally, Venom. Bit like running a gauntlet, I guess.

Her boobs aren't that small, thats about the only bit I like about her. Someone who would have suited MJ more in the physical sense and personality is Alicia Witt, though she doesn't have the biggest pair of boobs in the world.
