Going through SSBM. Need to rack up enough hours to get Mewtwo, and then play through a bit more for Mr Game And Watch.
After that I've got both Metroid Prime titles.
I'm just waiting for something new to come out on the Wii.
And God Of War 2 for PS2.

I'm working on a new City of Heroes character at the mo, so aside from a bit of WoW that's all I'm playing. Haven't even picked up Burning Crusade yet.
I am going to see a freind of mine tonight who owns a 360 a copy of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and 2 control pads though. The kid in me is rather excited.

Ohhhh yeah, its a pretty freekin' sweet game.
Seriously, in my opinion, Metroid has always been constantly underrated. Whenever someone talks about Nintendo games and characters, its always "Mario this", "DK that", "Link something" and blah blah blah.
But there has never ever been a bad Metroid game, and Samus is a compleatly unknown character, relativly speaking.

On some of their contract offers you can get free consoles.... I tried when to get an Xbox 360 once but they then wanted £120 deposit (would have gotten it back a month later, but I was at uni) so couldn't do it.

I like it - but I have no attention span and tend to play things for 10 minutes at a time, which makes Big Brain Academy ideal. Mrs Waffle likes it too, and it's always good when she gets into a game as well.

Just finished Crysis (only took three months) and have to say I did quite like it in the end. The story was fairly good once it got going and you got into the later stages though the whole thing didn't catch me as much as COD4 did. Still I'ld play through it again, abeit with a better graphics card.

With DMC4 finished i have Smackdown 2008, burnout paradise and Cod4 online. Just waiting till the 29th for lost oddessy on 360. Any game made by the guys who did FF7 is worth playing

Gamespy hated it, but they did say if you're a die hard FF fan then it's worth a look. Sounds pretty outdated to me.
I'm on Tabula Rasa at the moment. Got some nice features but the lag can get pretty bad at peak times and as cool as the "dynamic battlefield" thing is, it does mean that it's a bit of a system hog.
|
Reaper
|
Dynamic battlefield?
|
kingmouse
|
The idea is that stuff is happening all the time, rather than mobs spawning and waiting to be killed. So preditors hunt for other animals, human soldiers and aliens fight with each other. If you leave it long enough then the enemies actually capture towns and kill the mission givers. It's all pretty cool but it means that the graphics have to be a bit sub par in order to handle all the action.
|
Xeall
|
Trust me Warhammer online did it better, i got a quick run on the beta (shhh don't tell anyone) and all i can (Legally) say is it does it better.
Another one for people to look out for as RPG fans is Shin megami Tensi: Persona 3. The SMT Rpg's have been very good for a small company, ony Raido vs the souless army was i disapointed. Non continous plots so you can pick up any and go for something a bit different from the norm. I suggest Lucifers call or Digital devil saga as a first game to play. Lucifers call had Dante of Devil may cry fame as a boss and secret charcter.

Just started playing Army of Two (co-op story mode last night) on PS3
Seems like it will be good, although it will take getting used to the split screens stacked on top of each other.
Aiming controls seem a bit slippery - but I think that is just compared to a keyboard and mouse.
Has some very nice touches though, and as promised, the co-op aspects really are are integral to the game rather just having an extra player 1 in the world.

finished in 6 hours including multiple deaths. Short and mildly disapointing but somehow very enjoyable. Online multiplayer is where it is at. 5-0 at the moment and loving the integral mechanic of two vs two.
However on a different note Lost Odyssey on 360 is a real joy. As all JRPG's are, it carries themes which basically are, life and death and the understandings and pain of both. Plays like a final fantasy (not suprising from the guys who made ff). well worth a go for any RPG fan

Am I right in thinking that there is no split screen co-op on the 360 version of Army of 2? Penny Arcade were saying something about it but I can't find more details. I know that Microsoft and Sony are having some kind of war against the idea of people being in the same room when they play, but a pure co-op game with no same room co-op sounds super-lame.

you can even play the versus online split screen which is impressive, but i swear everyone that does has a 14 inch tv cos they can't shoot for shit! when you have two mates who have 32" tvs each vs a team playing on 7" each you tend to notice more and win!

Viking and dark sector are dissapointing mish mashes of other game ideas that just come off underwelming and worth missing.
Apollo justice is the same old same old from the phoenix wright series but if you are a fan like me or hav never played one before get in there and enjoy a mind taxing game for a change.
COD4 multiplayer maps are intresting but is in dire need of balancing and bug testing. chinatown has points to cover all spawns an is very very poor but it look very nice in theory.

Pulp Fiction Rules is the only way to play Rainbow 6 games.
Rule 1: You may only use the desert eagle
Rule 2: You may only open doors by kicking them in and shooting. No peaking round corners or slipping flashbangs through gaps.
Rule 3: You are allowed to alert your team mates that you're about to mess up their carefully laid out stealth incursion, but you must do so by yelling "Does Tom Clancy look like a bitch?" down the microphone.
You can play True Lies rules as well, that's basically the same thing but you can only do it on versions of the game that have rocket launchers.

With my job? In short, I had a small falling out with the owner and was unfairly dismissed. Now i am a chef....again. Bit different but what the hey.
I played Haze today, co-op on a demo is the best idea i have seen in ages. 4 player if you know someone else that has it and a friend. So anyone here who wants to add me on PS3 network my game tag is the same as my name here, just send me a message aswell letting me know who you are. going through the game 4 player co-op will be epic.
I enjoyed it alot, the frame rate was amazingly smooth during play maybe up to 60 fps which on a console is unheard of. Strange screen tear on some bits but forgivable. AI was amazing with one guy actually hiding under the mud only to pop up once id walked past and shoot my necter pack to make me take out some of my squad which you can't help but do. The enemy seemed very well camo'ed and use of necter vision seemed vital but i think that was the point. The feeling of the game only came through in splashes and more of the game would need to be played to give a fair veiw on if it works or not.
I will be buying this as i desperately want it to be good as my eyes have been on it like drakes fortune when it was announced as untittled game by naughty dog and that turned out amazingly. Free radical have a good background and should deliver. I suppose CatFang and I will let you know in a few weeks time. Might be time for the rest of you to consider buying a ps3.

Nah unfortunately due to having to look after my parents house while they go to somewhere lovely and warm I ran full spead at GTA and finished it before I left. I didn't seem to have the urge to go on random massacres this time so replay value isn't amazing for me.
Playing Shin Megami Tensi: Persona 3 on PS2
Which is an odd RPG that i'm sure isn't that great but I simply can't put down. Having to do mid-term exams!!!! And not just 'and now your character did his exams' but you actually had to pay attention in class and remember the frikkin answers!!!!! Its like the sims cross final fantasy.
'Did you have a fun day at school son?'
'Yes Mister Chairman, now when it turns midnight can I go kick some monster ass?'
'Of course you can but don't forget to revise!'
What the hell? Why am I addicted to the digital version of something I hated?
Role on 23rd for Haze, which I pre-ordered and game have sent me 2 of the limited edition tins!?! oh well, whatever that. Then 6th for some Ninja happiness, then 12th for some sneaky ownership followed by the 20th with a copy of Final Fantasy: Crisis Core that I can understand along with alone in the dark. Well im quite quite bored of all my consoles, i don't know why but there just doesn't seem to be anything recently thats made me wanna shout for joy.
Sure MGS4 was fun (for what you get to play), Ninja gaiden 2 was great but im done, Battlefield Bad company was fun but served to remind me how awesome the pc versions were.
And on that note i bought myself the god of all pc's and am now enjoying a range of different titles from Crysis to Company of Heroes. Let us not forget the joy of Team fortress 2. Its like my world has opened again and 3 next gen consoles are looking mighty expensive for a complete lack of use.
Seriously why i keep my Wii is beyond me. Now that Mario and co are all out what is there to wait for? Mario kart was a huge disapointment.
E3 is currently on and Nintendo have announced next to nothing, just like they did with the cube. Its gonna be worth keeping just for those few obscure titles that appear but that is really it.
Talking of E3 (this may be a long post) is anyone checking it out?
Alot of nothing to me, sure big name sequals like Gears of war 2 and God of War 3 were announced but we all knew that was coming and were gonna buy it anyway. What we need is some new ideas. Example of my favorite so far-
