New Portishead AlbumA mere 11 years after the last studio album, Portishead have a new album coming out. Found this on the band's website:
http://www.portishead.co.uk/news.php After 11 years, I would have thought they could have managed more that 11 songs clocking in at 49 minutes, but nonetheless very glad a new album's nearly here.

Portishead are playing on Jools Holland's live show tonight (BBC2 at 10), and it'll get shown again on Friday.
Read an ambivalent review of the album in Q, though Stuart Maconie writing in the Radio Times was a bit more enthusiastic. |

Is the album gonna be any good then, really didnt think it was that long ago but I guess it was.
Will probably tune in to the who tonight to listen to them. Dont know if I can be bothered with the rest of the toot he has, like lilly allan and that tat. |

Its definitely worth the admission fee, take the plunge, after all if you buy it and don't like it (which i dont think will happen) you can always take it back. | ||

I have heard a lot of mixed reviews. A lot of people on 6Music seem to think its a bit dated, and a bit whiney. I'm sure I will get it eventually tho.

Got Portas new album at last, Ha a fiver, result. its interesting, i know what you mean about whiny Longshot, however this is but one track, the stuff that's good is very good, mind you i have only listened to it once. and i reserve the right to further investigate, but for now i will just say that it is interesting, very interesting. | ||
