Its one of the new Virgin Comics.
Been reading this since issue one, its on about issue seven now, its good, and like most of the Virgin line, it has great art and is very story driven.
not to mention steeped in India Mythology, not so much as to annoy though, make a nice change from having japanese culture thrust at me.

been trying to convince people to try them, so far i think only Reaper has taken the bait, with John Woo's Seven Brothers. so i am a bit disapointed with you Reaper for not knowing who Sadhu is, thats why i picked your quote,
All soon to be in trade so check em out, otherwise we do have a Virgin Comics section in shop if you want to try the odd issue, see if you like the taste.

dont dismiss it right away, its way better that you may think. Remember Y the last man, and how did that get past my radar?

Umm mind you. I dont really see Nic Cage as an authentic indian....

Mind you, I didnt see Keanu as an English warlock and that went over well.

Oh, hang on a sec..... Very Happy
Reaper

I'm really sorry Batmanuel I didn't mean to :'( i've just been busy with uni work and...... how can you forgive me?!

Mind you when given the chance Nic can bloody well act, and he can act circles around our dear Keanu, (anyone seen Leaving Las Vagas) and he sure is ugly enough to pass of as person whose a bit on the dark side, bit of boot polish and bobs your uncle. but for the record he would be playing the part of a westerner who goes to India, do your bloody home work.

I think I explained my 'past my radar' comment elsewhere. I always knew about Y but never tried it. In fact, if memory serves me correctly, I stopped trying new comics shortly after I got together with Ann (and the problems that then caused at home - which is a whole 'nother thread for a day when I'm at my lowest). Yes, Y started before that but I simply wasn't interested in it back then.

I will try Y but it'll be TPB now and after I've sorted (or fiddled) the finances after baby is born.
The Rascal King

Y The Last Man is awsome. I've been getting that since about the late 20's.
Only 7 more ish issues to go! Crying or Very sad

Easy solution for you, dont feed the baby for a week and the money you save on baby milk, not to mention nappys, (if nothing goes in, nothing comes out) and bingo, you have the dosh Laughing
Robin The Boy Wonder

While I have to feed the baby... there's nothing that says that I have to feed Ann... hmm...
Batmanuel

You are going to be in soooo much trouble if she see's these posts Laughing
Reaper

Just sell them off to someone in India, all that money you'd make could be spent on comics
Batmanuel

Just to get things back on track i thought i would post some information for you all on Sadhu

The Sadhu is about one man's choice between his spiritual oath and his human instinct. When James Jensen, a down on his luck Englishman, is recruited into her majesty Queen Victoria's army and posted with his family in India in the summer of 1858, he begins a journey that will take him from being a simple soldier to a spiritual warrior. But faced with tragedy and his own impending execution at the hands of his evil commanding officer, who has murdered his wife and child after a botched rape attempt, James flees his military unit only to find himself lost deep in the jungle and at the mercy of a seeming band of Indian killers. But when their leader, Dadathakur, orders a reprieve and eventually allows James to join them on their attacks of the local Indian landowners that side with the British, James embarks on a dark path of violence in an effort to avenge the atrocities committed to his family.

But soon he discovers it's not the answer and is drawn to the gentle nature and sublime wisdom of Dada. James adopts the ways of the Sadhu, a coded way of life that not only teaches an obscure form of martial arts but also illuminates the true nature of reality and at last teaches James the one eternal truth: the path we choose is who we are

so you see Nick Cage would i believe be playing the part of an English man
i have been reading this comic and have been enjoying it, like i said good art and very story driven
Something a bit different from the usual fodder
Guest

So this time its Cage pretending to be English, eh?

Bastard!!!!

Very Happy

its not pretending, its acting, fool Smile
Well he might just do a better job than Keau Reeves Laughing
But he wiont be pretending to be indian eathir.... so no boot polish.

bet he would have made a better Constantine.

If you are wondering about the typos, i thougt id do it Cap O style Laughing Laughing
Robin The Boy Wonder

Sounds like a very interesting premise... and should translate well to film.

My only concern is Nic Cage - he used to be a damned fine actor but with the apparent lessening quality of his recent films (Wicker Man immediately springs to mind as do a couple of others - I'm holding back on Ghost Rider until I see it) and his seeming half-efforts at producing a strong, chracter-driven performance these days, I would rather see someone, anyone, else in the title role.

Would Clive Owen be a good choice...? I watched Children of Men recently and thought he was excellent in that. And he's English!

Yes it wasn't bad.
