Mongol"do not scorn a weak cub, he may become a brutal Tiger"
not long came back from seeing this and i got to say it was awesome, just fantastic, so whats good about it
the first thing is what the film is trying to do overall, which is trying to make an adaption of the "the secret history of the Mongols". makeing alive the myth of Genghis Khan. although the movie is overall highly historical the story it is telling is the one that would of been heard and read just after Temudjin's death though the empire.
on a note of the historical, the movie makes use it source and then builds on that by makeing it historically correct in the costume's and weapons that the cast use, also the film gets the attitude of times that Temudjin lived in and captures the vibe of the medieval mindset fantasticlly.which opens up a window into the life's of the noble and majestic Mongol's
the cast are great and Khulan Chuluun stands out still in my mind as the wife of the great Khan, Borte. the cinematography is ace which is matched by its soundtrack, the action would put most of the epic of not so long ago to shame, a film that will stay with you.
