Metal Men?

Does this mean anything to anyone?

Metal Men the movie?
Guest

Yes.

It means DC are going to make a movie based on the characters Metal Men.

Hope that helps.
The Rascal King

Like a comment said on the bottom of that page, DC are really raiding their Vaults here for properties.
Surely they can come up with something better than the Metal Men? Honestly, they've got some fantastic properties. Do something (decent, not stupid comedies) with Green Lantern, or the Flash! Hell, Aquaman! Theres no need to take such obscure charactures and use them like this yet.

I kinda think its a better idea to do something with some of the more obscure charcters earlie on as apposed to the better known ones.

Just look at Marvel, all theyve really got left is a couple of avenger based films left and a half ton of sequals and X list characters.

If DC do it this ways 10 years down the line theyre still gonna have somewhere to go with it.
kingmouse

True...but did I ever tell you that mercury is the only metal that's liquid at room temperature? Wink

There's scope for a great kids film in Metal Men so I can see why they're going that route.
Robin The Boy Wonder

The link doesn't seem to be working...

As for Metal Men: The Movie... isn't that the poor man's Transformers?
The Rascal King

Well, seeing as there's only the 5 of them, and they don't transform into anything, no, they're not.
Anyway, the Poor Mans Transformers would bte the GoBots.

(Booyah, for my superior knowledge of 80's Cartoons)
Reaper

*pats RascalKing* Well done

<hopes no one gets Rascal King started on his favourite 80's cartoon movie... Carebears!!>

Metal Men could be fun. Got potential. Is in no way a Transformers clone though, as already stated.

Mind you, with the current wave of 80's and older licensies being revamped how long till MASK the movie???!!!
waffle

WARGH - That's be awesome!

As long as that sissy kid and his gay robot scooter aren't in it.
The Rascal King

Mobile Armored Strike Kommand! Hell yes!
No way, I'm waiting out for Centurions.
Robin The Boy Wonder

Methinks my point was being missed on the poor man's Transformers comment... ah, well never mind. Maybe I'm just too highbrow for you mere plebs. Razz

But you can take your MASK and Centurions and shove them firmly where the sun doesn't shine.

Only one franchise needs a solid revamping (let's forget WildStorm's effort from a couple years ago):

THUNDERCATS!!!

No, wait:

HE-MAN!!! By the power of Grayskull, I have the POWER!
The Rascal King

He Man

What about a Voltron remake?
Robin The Boy Wonder

I meant a new movie for He-Man...?

As a wee boy, I saw that one at the cinema. Oddly enough, I wouldn't mind seeing it again.
Longshot

I just think that this has a lot of possibilities with what i know from the characters, with them all having different personalties to relate to their element. and the genrally mentall Doc [can't rember his name]

And the GoBots were the Kmart Transformers.
The Rascal King

KMart?
Speak ENGLISH boyo, not YANKEE.
Longshot

okay, theyre like the aldi transformers [that was a quote however, ther was reasoning behind it].
waffle

clerks 2?
Reaper

The last He-Man movie was fecking fantastic and we definitely need another one. Though Dolph doesn't do movies anymore so he's out of the picture.
Longshot

He [dolf] was on through the keyhole the other week, the only person anyone knew anything of

And yes it was clerks 2
