JLA Cast speculationIGN posted this today and it's a pretty good read: http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/817/817201p1.html
I agree with some of the suggestions in it (Vin Diesil or Larry Fishborn as Martian Manhunter is inspired) but I'm not totally sure I'd go with their decisions on the roster as a whole. I say ditch Barry and Hal, bring in Wally and Kyle (though the reality will probably be Wally and John to help balance the demographic a little).
Anyone ever read the 'cast' list they used to draw Identity Crisis? That had some pretty solid choices in it (Nightwing as a young Johnny Depp and Kyle Rayner as a Calvin Klyne model)

I had heard some really weird rumours that they were planning on chucking in things to do with the Omacs, Wonder Woman killing someone and various other bits from that particular time.

Top rumour at the moment is that the White Martians are the villains. Which seems to imply that it'll be based on the pilot from the animated series (which is a very good origin story). But to be honest, until production gets into full swing next year it's anybodys guess...if it even makes it that far.

A JLA movie...?
Now that's surprising... something I wasn't expecting at all when I woke up this morning. Thinking about it further, though, it may be a natural choice move for Warner Bros when considering the fact that Marvel are planning an Avengers movie (the only difference is that it would appear that Marvel are quite keen on using the stars from the solo movies in the ensemble film - ie. Robert Downey Jr. may be persuaded to reprise his role as Iron Man in an Avengers film).
I wouldn't be at all surprised though if an eventual JLA film didn't use the Holy Trinity of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, despite the casting call on IGN.
Still, their picks seem fairly solid (especially Vin Diesel as Martian Manhunter; really appeals to me for some reason) although it would be nice if Warners were to use their established actors from the solo films in the ensemble movie. It creates more of a shared universe feel, methinks; something the fans may really dig.

I did think that, I would really like to go and see a film with the Superman and Batman i know rather than some new actor who only get a chance to half do the character. If they did it with the known actors they could concentrate more on the rest of the team [wonder woman, green lantern etc.] as people would know where Superman and Batman were coming from.
What team will they use as I really hope Green Arrow will be in it, but I have no idea who they will use. I hope it is some kind of origin thing thou, I dont know what villan it should be tho.

Apparently the trouble with casting is that all of the established actors are either too busy or not interested. I think Bale turned it down (though he's still contracted to do a third Batman flick) and Brandon Roth is fully booked doing other stuff.
I'd like to see James Marsden and Rob Lowe get another shot at hero movies. Marsden deservers a good role after being the whipping boy for X-Men, Spiderman and Superman (I reckon he'd actually make a pretty good Supes) and Lowe was great in the (criminally underrated) Specials. Not sure where I see Lowe though, maybe as Barry Allen since he's a bit old to play Wally.

Here's a thought...
What if the JLA will be the same Justice League as seen in (or is that yet to be seen in as I don't watch the series) Smallville...?

Apparently this is the currently rumoured cast list....
Superman - D.J. Cotrona
Batman - Armie Hammer
Wally West/The Flash - Anton Yelchin
Aquaman - Santiago Cabrera
Iris - Zoe Kazan
Wonder Woman - Megan Gale
Talia al Ghul - Teresa Palmer
Green Lantern - Common
I have little idea of who most of them are....

I thought Ryan Rennols was still top pick for The Flash. I suppose when you're taking a risk on a big cast you can't afford to shell out for big names all the way.

Adrien Brody was also linked, who knows?

It seems that a Wonder Woman may have been found. Couple of websites are reporting that various independent sources have listed that Australian Supermodel Megan Gale will be taking up the role.
Pretty lady, but shes a supermodel so not guaranteed to be a great actress though we can always be pleasently surprised. There is another picture available but its not all ages friendly, let me know if you want to see it... ahem
Annnnd just found that they've confirmed who will be playing Batman.... Armie Hammer!!!.... ? Who? Anyway his imdb page is here and so far he's done nothing of note so he must have made a fantastic impression on the casting team... somehow...

it seems to be a trend with this movie of getting unknowns in, i think all in all this is a good move for the movie, it also says to me its going to be some kind of mo - cap job, i dont see this being 100% live action, well its got to be better then that JSA tv movie thay sometimes show on C5

Well I suppose there isn't much need to worry about the casting for a while as the film has been put on indefinite hold due to the writers strike. I think we're very lucky a lot of this years comic based films started before the strike and some were very close to the line.

No, I think we're very lucky that a Justice League movie isn't happening yet, full stop.

Just because i can't find the other thread because i've gone blind from 12 hours on DMC4 i'm gonna put this here.
I had the discussion of the avengers movie the other day again. The problem again was casting thor and Cap A. Unfortunatly we just thought of someone that would have pulled off Cap. Heath Ledger

Personally I don't see it, but then thats the sign of a good actor, one that can pull off a role that you didn't expect them to be able to.... much like the Joker.

Tbh it's probably not a bad thing if it does collapse, from the moment it was mentioned I couldn't see this film being pulled off. They're trying to keep it cheap, they have a director that I hadn't even heard of - and not being modest I'm fairly well versed in the movie world - so there's a good chance theres a reason I've not heard of him, a cast that didn't speak volumes. Maybe I'm just being ignorant and looking down on a project I don't know enough about but I just can't see it working.
As for the internet having too much sway on films, I think for the most part it doesn't because they still do so many things in films that the fans are crying out against before they finish filming. At times it could be good if they listened to people online because there are a lot of voices with strong opinions (some good and some bad) and they tend to cry out against the bad ideas and most of the time they're right.

Donnie. Darko. 2.

He's only doing that because his last film bombed so badly that he needs a guaranteed hit to stay in the business.
