Hitmanhttp://www.slashfilm.com/2007/06/...n-movie-trailer-fails-to-impress/
The first movie trailer for 20th Century Fox’s big screen adaptation of the popular hitman game.
I was a big fan of the game but not certain if it will work as a film

I didn't think the trailer looked bad, if its done right it could end up being a high octane bit of entertainment.
Still waiting for the promise of a Metal Gear Solid film.

They seem to have gone down a weird track with him being a man who kills evil..... in the games he's a hitman, nothing good about him.

Its undergoing script writting now. David hayter wrote one he called Apocolipise now meets blade runner and they turned it down. However the film is underway.
It looks like a good film but it looks like they have stuck with the idea of religion from the second game a bit to much. Good casting for agent 47 though

I dunno. Look at the kind of people you kill, they almost always have blood on their hands. He's not a good guy persay, but most of the marks are pretty nasty fellas.

That is true but its not defining factor of the game, in the game he is just a killer for hire. Thats one of the reasons I liked it, its gritty and nasty.

True look at the amount of police officers you can go through. e.g first level of contracts. He should be an anti-hero not a good guy.

At the end of the day he is a killer, but a killer in movies can be anything you want depending on who you put him up against. They'll probably use The Francise as the bad guys and that way whatever he does he's fighting a greater evil. Still, I'm not saying I'd like to invite him round for cupcakes or anything.
Man, I wish they'd make a new Hitman game! There's only so many times I can replay Blood Money.

Reaper

So far I've not seen any new plans whatsoever which is a shame as Blood Money is second only to No.2

Hitmans is on hold. The team are making Kane and Lynch, two player co-op hitman with psychopaths basically. Actually i don't remember them mentioning co-op for a while they best not haver dropped it.
Whole idea is that if you want a fire fight it is an option as you are frikkin crazy.

"Fly me to the moon and let me sing among the Batarang." Thock!
Loved Hitman. You ask me, more superheroes should get their powers from being sexually assaulted by fat demons.

Now theres a concept!!

I'm sure if you ask Manny nicely he'll track you down the trade with it in. To be fair it's not exactly specified what happens in that hotel room, but I'm pretty sure it involved a hellprobe.

Is that Hitman Reborn?

Emma Peel was hot as you say and Steed... well he was the man, could take Iron Man any day of the week.

Theres been a wonder rumour floating around this morning that 20th Century Fox are going to screw with Hitman. Xavier Gens finished his cut of the film recently and presented a very gory, violent and guaranteed R rating film to Fox. Who then threw a hissy fit and replaced him with Nicholas De Toth who has re-edited the film to make it near gore free much like Die Hard 4.
Do you think Fox had the missed the point of a Hitman film?!

They've started releasing a small web series called Hitman : Origins, currently up to episode two. Its been produced in a semi comic book, semi animation style and doesn't look too bad. Story isn't great take a look

its ok, its very close to the original story apart from the other clones being freaks, think you kill about 20 of them throughout the games, if you kill the ones in the tanks in contracts anyway

Just seen this and..... I'm pleasantly surprised.
This one of those few times where the trailer to a film hasn't ruined the films story. What it did do however was misinform the viewer to some extent. In the trailer it said that the Hitmen are created from the genes of various criminals, in the film it contradicts this (I won't say how). In the trailer we are told they are created to fight evil... there is absolutely no hint of this in the film... and lastly in the trailer there are strong hints that he's going to start bonking the lead actress... I'm going to ruin this for you because I'm really glad that he didn't and also that he doesn't even venture down that road. I apologise if I've pissed you off by revealing that but for me the very idea that Agent 47 would get it on in the film was horrific, so now thats all cleared up I'm happy.
Anyway as game to movie adaptions generally go, we get excited about the idea of them, the trailers look good and then we come out thinking, what a pile of cow dung. Hitman has to be one of the best game to movie adaptions I've seen, don't get me wrong its not The Shawshank Redemption, this film will not change your life. It is however a good action film with a little bit of political intrigue thrown in. What the director and co have managed to do is make a film of a game that actually works, doesn't have dire acting, stays fairly true to the game (even including some camera shots that resemble the camera view from the game and a wink to the game after he jumps through a hotel window) and doesn''t have a stupid storyline (take note Mario Brothers and Tomb Raider).
Timothy Olyphant is actually pretty good as our cold man of death, he pretty much looks the part except being a little too boyish good looking as opposed to the sharpness of the game character and some of his dialogue is delivered with a bit too much emotion (I personally felt there should be none). These are mild quibbles against an otherwise pretty good portrayal.
Olyphant also manages to put his shooting days from Deadwood into practice and pastes lots of people against a blood stained wall, the action scenes are fairly well done while not being amazingly innovative, they're realistic to a point and well choreographed. It is very evident that time and money has gone into making them good and they've managed to not go into Bourne terroritory by having the camera freak out all over the place like a japanese child watching pokemon.
Hitman also managed to keep a fairly modest running time which is in quite a constrast compared to a lot of other films this year that are pushing 120 minutes or more. Hitman hits about 90 minutes and doesn't feel too short because of it or too long and when it comes down to it, a film based around a Hitman game doesn't exactly need to be a 5 hour epic now does it.
Its probably only really a three star film in terms of depth of plot and scripting but I'm giving it four because it's pretty well done and a game to movie adaption that doesn't suck balls. Oh and they got the voice of Diana from Hitman 2 in for a cameo, Cool!
4 out of 5
Bang Bang!

On that recomendation i'll give to a go. Was i the only person that thought silent hill was a good adaptation of the games in terms of feel and therefore a good (not amazing) film?

I had forgotten about Silent Hill, that was a good film though I would be more inclined to watch Hitman sooner than I would Silent Hill.

I really liked Silent HIll, Loved the games so Had to see the film.
I thought it was a gread adaptation of the Silent hill [the town] and that was perfect as there are soo many different versions of it out there.
I thought that it had a near perfect visualisation of it and it was a damn site better than some films out there trying to do the same thing.

Yeah - the visuals were very good.
I thought the story was pretty much what you expect from a game adaptation, but entertaining enough.
Nowhere near as scary as the games though.
