I have now watched the first episode, and wow, twice times better than Lost, and about 400 times better that torchwood, this is a very very cool show.
I believe The Rascal is going to post the information on how to get it so i will leave it to him.
but if you haven't seen it yet then you must. Smile

Tis good isn't it, wait till you get a few eps in it gets better. A much better Superhero type show than Mutant cack I mean X. I read that first issue of 7 Brothers after watching a few episodes of Heroes, very similar idea in a way.

Incidentally, I believe Heroes is finally gonna premiere on UK television in mid-February, albeit on The Sci-Fi Channel.

BBC2 will then be showing it from June onward.

Of course, downloading can be just as much fun. Very Happy

Mondays episode was really good. Very character centric, and the flashbacks really reminded me of Lost.
Except, y'know, they actually told us things, and didn't leave us hanging (well, not too badly anyway).

Really good ep this week nice movement of whats happening with Claire and her father and setting it up for everyone arriving in New York for the eventual season finale and the introduction of new bad guy Eric Roberts. I dont think the series has ever stuck one such a small set of characters for an entire ep, nice change in shift.

I still don't understand how Sylar gets his powers form others. Something to do with their Brains? Whats that about?

And like I said, Malcom McDowell was a fantastic casting choice. He's threatening, but in a gentle sort of way. I can't think of a movie where he HASN'T been the bad guy.
And I keep waiting for him to say "droogs".

Sylar gets the powers because his initial power was to see how things works. So he gets the brain so he can see how their powers and then he can 'fix' his brain to do the same thing, giving him their powers.

I've only just got into this, but ohhh my goly gosh is it amazing. i just love it all, im only at episode 9 so far and its not fair as ive got revision to be doing and its getting in the way of the heroes.
I just love it, im guessing from how your all talking its not going to let up at all, i mean its going to me mental all the way.
Why is it compared to lost so much [even by me] its nothing like it, things actually happen, people actually have powers, there are no annoying characters [which may be a first for an american sci-drama-fi].
I love it, and it is fun to just go, ohh look wolverien, shadowcat, rogue, etc.

I know what you mean about the unfair comparisons to Lost. Like you said, this is going somewhere. And HELLA fast.

And god yes, the new episode was awsome. I could have done with more fight between Peter and Sylar, but what the hell, it was great while it lasted anyway.

Everyone is taking bets on Petes Mum's power. Pretty safe bet she has one, right? What do we think? Some people are reconing Precog.

And what do we recon to Linderman, Pete's Mum and Hiro's Dad being invovled in the Company originally, with InvisiGuy (forgot his name)

Suppose she could be a precog hence all her knowledge of events. Was impressed with the Lindeman revelation.
They couldn't really make the Peter and Sylar fight too long as you never have the initial confrontation as a big fight, you wait till the end for the epic one. Though something I didn't get was when Sylar fired all the glass in the room, why was Peter standing directly in the line of fire and with his back to Sylar?

The only comparison between Lost and Heroes I could make is the success and popularity of the show and I suppose maybe that the plot is being slowly revealed to us. Though Heroes is actually going somewhere, whereas most of Lost series 2 didn't.

Saying that the latest ep of Lost had an interesting ending.

But the thing is, I'm not sure things in the past have changed!
Well, not that much anyway (Spoiler!):
Becuase Sylar was meant to have Claires regenerative ablity, right? But she was still alive! How could he have taken it? He was still after it while he was masquerading as the Pres! But if he didn't have it, how did he revive after Hiro stabbed him?
But then again, Peter's scar (looks cool) seems to indicate that he hadn't meet Claire beforehand, otherwise he'd have been able to heal.
Certainly, in the Future-Past, Issac never sent off 9th Wonders, but in the Present, he has. So maybe they're changing it enough.
Still, holy hell next week.

Thing have changed, you can see it in certain moments, they talk about how Claire died. But later on they're talking to Bennett and they mention tat Claire is alive, he says 'What'? Out of surprise. Then if you watch he realises that she is alive and he goes to see her in the cafe.
There is atleast one other moment like that but I can't remember what it is off hand.

No, he already knew she was alive. He'd been harbouring her since whenever. Claires boyfriend had a nickname for him an everything, they had codes and all.
He was just surprised other people know about it.I think...

You see thats what I think was how it changed, if you remember when Hiro and future Hiro first meet they talk about saving the cheerleader as if it hasn't happened but then shortly later, the changes in time catch up with them and it has happened. I'm going to watch it again later so I'll check and get back to you.

The latest ep was pretty damned good I thought, yeah a bit slow but in a good story building way and personally the end line of 'Boom' made the episode for me.

So the final showdown (for this series) is about to commence will the Heroes save New York? Will Nathan go through with the evil scheme? Will Micah catch a glimpse of the shape changing womans breasts in the shower? Find out next week, same Heroes time, Same Heroes Place.

Oh god yes.
I thought the last few episodes were amazing as well. Yeah, not as all out action as those of a few weeks back, but still immense in the story telling right.
As usual, spoiler warning:
I still can't belive that Peter took off with Clare, but just left Ted to be arrested. He could have saved them both! I blame him that Sylar now has BoomBoom powers.
Hiro with his dad was amazing as well, but shouldn't it have taken a far longer time to train to that level? Unless Hiro slowed down time for the both of them (DBZ Hyperbolic Time Chamber style). I wonder what Mr Sulu's power is.
Do we think Linderman can heal himself?
And I actually quite like Mystique-esque lady. I loved the conversation

I kinda think that:
The shape changey lady is might really look like the woman who she went to vote as, but i could be wrong.
I am realy stuck between the fact that to suceed as a team they must stop the bomb, but they cant do it, i like the idea.
Why didnt DL just phase out the bullet then get to a doctor to patch him up, i really dont want him to die.
I dont think Linderman can heal himself, i thought killing him and eric roberts was a really good move, and when M.Bennet show Roberts it was soo sudden and unexpected.
I thought the scene in the lift with Mat, Bennet, Jessica and DL was really funny, just standing there trying to avoid killing each other
Has anyone gone to the paper company website and seen the secret files, its quite cool, look for the codes on wikipedia [heroes 360] if you havent.

PS Was the sword fixing guy called mr Claremont, as in chris, i just wondered, as that would be a nice refrence.

all in all i really cant remember a show that i have enjoyed as much as Heroes in a long time (exept for the Sheild but for completly diffeant reasons) this week episode on sc-fi rocked, roll on the next one.

To be honest, I was really disappointed with the 'fight' between Peter & Sylar at the end of the last episode. After all that incredible build-up, with each episode just getting better and better... they give us a fight where Sylar came across as a ... well, for lack of a better word, an inexperienced dweeb. Sad

I expected too much, methinks.

I'm confident the second season will be better.

The promise of another enemy, Sylar is still alive (it'll be interesting to see if Nathan is still around for the second season... cuz if he is, I wouldn't mind betting that it's Sylar posing as Nathan...), and the debut of a new main character.

The best part about Heroes though has to be the fact the series has reached, and is enjoying success with, a mainstream audience. There's an audience out there, people who perhaps wouldn't dream of ever walking into a comic shop, watching and enjoying stories about normal, everyday people who just happen to have superhuman abilities. More than anything else, I think Heroes is raising awareness of our industry and hopefully changing the perception of it too.

Hopefully you're right Boy Wonder. I'm looking forward to the end of September when Heroes s2 appears but it had better be good.... And now I hope this thread doesn't get turned into another argument about the perception of comics and all that stuff with films Razz

I heard that there is going to be an interim [i think thats a word] series of 8 non main story heroes and then the best of those is going to appear in the second series.

I think that is a really good idea, but we will probably have no say in this as it will not be aired over here untill far too late. [god bless the internet]

Thats between series 2 and series 3. They're planning on showing it in the mid season gap of series 2 and then the character will be voted by the audience (terrible idea) and appear in series 3.
