Halo 3

CapO and Batmanuel both have asked me to keep you people up to date on games through reviews and so forth. I have abliged with 2 gaming reviews so far (read them Shocked ) and i continue on with this. Something i have kind of been dreading.

Halo 3

I want to like it and at the same time i am petrified its gonna suck. But here i am. I'm going to try and keep you up to date in the run down till release.

So Due for release September 26th Halo 3 looks to be the definitive game of the next generation. Graphics that should be revolutionary and yet gears of war and lost planet still seem to be better (wait for release to make a judgement on that).

Here is the biggest thing that got me....the reason i now do this post.....4player co-op. Yes that right 4. Either 4 on one machine or split into 2 machines. It will not support 4 machines as they claim the processors just can't take it Captian.

Well until i come back with proper preview info i leave you with this, i found and thought was cool

and this which i thought was cool

I thought 4 player co-op was only online or system link and that you could only do 2 player on a single consol?
Xeall

Apparently 4 on a single console. online cannot support 4 diffrent machines processing the movement and ai appaerntly...

And the flaws of Console gaming become apparent Razz
kingmouse

Damn. I'm gonna need a bigger TV. Can't remember having 4 way split screen on a shooter since Goldeneye. Confused

When was the last 4 player co-op game on pc?.....hang on ghost recon did 16 player co-op on 360.....bungie are talking s*%$!!!

I think its more xbox live will not be able to handle the amount of players that will be using the server. The game will be huge even if it sucks!
Reaper

I direct you to most PC online shooters and if we're going to get picky about what Co-op includes, then SWAT 4 for a start.

Halo is a tricky one to pin down. The first one was revolutionary when it came to game play (even if it was the same 5 minutes of fun over and over again). The second one not so much. Due to major technical problem and Microsoft's 'we must get it out on this date' the game was rush and in the most part incomplete.

Hopefully with the extra time they have been given they can finally sort out some game play issue and bring in some of the sub story lines involving the elite /brute civil war and conclude what was becoming a interesting and somewhat unique storyline (read the books HIGHLY RECOMMENDED).

The main thing i'm looking forward too?

4 player co-op

now to find 3 friends with x box live :S

Unfortunatly thats the problem at the mo, it can't support co-op over 4 machines, only 2. Soo you need to find a friend with x box live, who has a friend, then find a friend to come to yours.....

ok more info:

When you play co-op you are no longer a generic copy, you play as master cheif or arbiter as they work together.

The story is not a direct follow on, the space inbetween will be covered by marvels halo uprising, so for the full story expect to fork out.

New vehicles include a new warthog with room for 4 passengers as a troop transport and also the brute chopper which has 2 mounted brute shots. Vehicles are also said to be in more of an abundance.

Other spartans will be in the campain mode

I also have a list of the first 25 achievements but i'm not writting them here. lets just say after completeing the game on normal you will get 405 points.....oh well.

And a new capture the flag mode has you flag on a fully mobile battle platform for a bit more depth.

The legendary edition is now sold out at game, however copies still remain at gamestation, for all those who don't know legendary edition comes as 3 discs in a spartan helmet (aparently called the mjolnir mark vi, think thor might be pissed), load of bonus features, including documentries, artwork, short films about how great halo is, red vs blue episodes and some halo minigame. All this for a ridiculous £70. I'm a mug.....

Well Halo uprising came out today and was incredibly meh. A must buy for those who want to know why the hell your doing what your doing in halo 3 as the story does not continue directly off halo 2. Yes people we've all been jipped. My sugestion at this point in time is ignore issue 1-3 and pick up the final issue which will have a back track and tell you what the whole point of this comic was. Unless your an uber geek like me don;t worry to much about this

So its out wednesday. we've all seen the tv ad, a diarama of the battle on earth, bungie were given 10 million for advertising and thats the best they came up with! anyway

4 player co-op seems to be a giant ball of confusion now, is it online, offline or system link seems to be the question no one wants to answer! I go back on my original statement and guess its probably online and system link only, i'll try to find out today or tomorrow for those like me who want 4 mates round to get wankered and play halo.

Lots and lots of videos were released at Tokyo game show this weekend just gone which pretty much cover everything in the game, can't afford the game the trailers will probably tell you everything.

now the only question you have to answer is are you:

1. going to be boring and buy the £40 normal edition of dullness
2. Going to be with millions of others and by the confusing metal box of doom edition for £50
3. Going to hunt down happy looking people to kill them for the sold out £70 legendary edition with the spartan helmet of geekdom.

Well ladies and gentlemen it came out and i completed it on Hard in a day. Shorter than Halo 2 with graphics that have already been topped by many other tittles inluding Gears of war and Resistance fall of man. A dissapointment i'm afraid.

2 points of excitment were fighting giant scarbs to have to get on them and take out the core and jump off dramatically as they explode and the ending sequence that is very similar to halo 1.

The extra dvds just show that the developers obviously belive that the story is some kind of epic tale that i care about more than shooting things in the face. Very average game that sticks to it root no matter how outdated those roots now are. Rent it jobby
