So Ps3 was responisble for the delay, i knew this as a friend of mine works at rockstar. unfortunatly he wasn't supposed to tell me and therefore if i posted it on the net he may be in a little bit of trouble!
Programing seems to have proved a hard task on both ps2 and ps3 consoles. However the ps2 soon gained a plethora of tittles once developers leart how to make the baby purr, the question is with the 360 already out and easy to program on will anybody bother espicailly now that Sony may have declined realeasing the 80gb version in this country leaving us with no back compatable ps3.
The question remains with GTA4 as to which machine is going to be the one to get it on. Rockstar say the games are now identical and if this is true does it matter which machine you get it on? Well yes! My local game manager pointed out when i was changing my order to the 360 version in fear of a horrible frame rate on PS3, the cache memory on the 360 tends to be quite poor. For those who played oblivion will remember the horrible slow down and loading times when you having been playing for several hours, let alone the constant crashing. The Ps3's ability to cache is significantly better by design using the built in harddrive as standard to store Ram or even downloading part of the game like a pc version installation. Who knows until its out but a final point will be that the 360 version will allow your own soundtrack to be used where as the ps3 is yet unable to store music from cds.
Read this article again! Yes microsoft seem to have made a substantail amount of money from sales in this first quarter, however the last paragraph says differently. 6 billion dollar loss since nov 2001? Yes since the original Xbox was released all those years ago microsoft have lost a mint. What is dissapointing is most of this loss comes from the 360 if i remember my articales correctly. 1 billion for the errors on the orginal batch of 360's that all became faulty, 1 billion on garenteeing all other 360's till nov 2008 against the red lights of death and a significant amount on re-designing the mother board to stop the red lights of death (which didn't work as my elite died a death a few weeks back). On top of the costs of original design and advertising the 360 has become a hole in bill gates pocket all be it a tiny hole to him.
Strange that a machine kicking the Ps3 up and down the street is turning up more losses than its collosal rival. Sony even claim they will be breaking even on the ps3 come the end of the year which with a new machine is unheard of, well apart from the Wii i imagine. Makes you wonder how long microsoft will stick with an incredibly popular but chronically expensive peice of hardware.
So rascal king is crying in his bed until its released over here, deosn't mean the rest of us have to. The trailer above is the actually intro to the game as it has already been released in japan (the weekend just gone).
So why is it taking 2 months to come out in america? Translation is one factor but its not like this is a final fantasy that takes months, Smash bros are genrally in ing-rish (japanse version of english in the gaming world.....no offence its just never quite right in games) anyway. So what is it? The net! The game needs reprogramming to work for the way the american internet does and that takes a couple of months.
Anybody like to point out how poor european net is compared to america let alone japan? We could be waiting awhile unless the gaming god look kindly upon our little island and decide he really wants to be sonic the hedgehog kicking samus in the face while drinking earl grey. Its possible....
Oh and look out in the trailer of Marth and Ness returning and just because some characters aren't in the intro doesn't mean they aren't in it. Secret characters people.

A bit more news has appered and i fear i'm the only one that cares
Well i still like the series and think crystal dynamics have done a great job reinventing the series, however this is their third game in 2 years and that lack of variety and money making repetativeness without proper production time is what killed tomb raider before.
