Just finished watching this and if nothing else then I'm blown away by some of the Animation. I remember in 2000 people were chanting about how good the animation was to FF The Spirits Within, but that has nothing on this.
For any who don't know the film follows on two years after the game finished. Cloud is a recluse who runs a delivery service from Tifa's bar. They also care for a lot orphans in their area, these orphans have been infected with a disease called Geostigma. A guy called Kadaj appears searching for 'Mother' which he hopes to use to create armageddon, he also tries to enlist all the children with Geostigma.
It's not a bad storyline though you need to pay attention to the talkie bits as they do explain things pretty quickly and then move on.
Voice acting isn't bad, they've managed to enlist some B list talent to do it, notably Mena Suvari and Rachel Leigh Cook. And while there are points where the speech is broken up because there have been natural gaps in the lip sync from the Japanese voices, but thats only really dodgy point in it.
The action scenes are pretty damn amazing even regardless of the graphics they are just epic and if you're an FF fan you'll feel right at home with the scope of them. Pay attention to thinks like hair, particularly on Aerith at the end they've done a fantastic job.
Overall, I liked it and would definitely watch it again. 8/10

god i hate and love that movie at the same time.
Again more convoluted plot added onto a plot that didn't make sense to begin with.
There was no real reason to make the film. it was just blatant fan service.

Sounds like most FF games. I didn't care about the plot, the animation was what kept my interest. Just a shame some of the womens clothing didn't fall off, would have been interested in seeing how good their rendering of that would be.
