I'm sure almost everybody has now read Kurt Busiek's & Alex Ross' groundbreaking four-issue mini-series, Marvels.
You haven't?
Shame on you. Go to the back of the class, then out the door, walk outside, take a long walk if you need to and then go to your local comic book retailer and demand that Batmanuel sells you a copy of the TPB.
Now, read it.
Seriously, Marvels is that important and one of the greatest stories the publisher has ever printed.
And the sequel should be treated as just as important.
Eye Of The Camera follows Phil Sheldon through the Marvel Universe of the 70's & 80's as he witnesses events involving The Punisher's first bloody appearance to the deaths of the X-Men and the events of Secret Wars II.
Written by Kurt Busiek, with art by Jay Anacleto, the series has been six years in the making and Marvel have always insisted that the series wouldn't be published until they could guarantee a regular shipping schedule. Well, now they can. Mark it in the calendar.
December 2008.

Batmanuel
A Little known fact here is that i remember seeing pages of Marvels 2 way back in the nineties at the ukcac trade and press day, this book riding on the wave of the success of Marvels was indeed to feature the likes of The Punisher and Ghost Rider, this story would also cover some important marvel events such as Secret Wars II, and Inferno it was later to be released as Code of Honor. as it was never officially named Marvels it is commonly known that this was in fact the official Marvels follow up.
it has since been buried which is a crying shame, because although it was not by Kurt B. & Alex R. it was really very good and contained one of the best depictions of the Punisher i have ever seen.
So in theory this new Marvels 2 is in fact Marvels 3, one thing is for sure Marvels is important and one of the greatest stories that Marvel has ever printed. so in that i agree whole heartily, and its only when you go back and read it again that you remember just how good it was.
But last and not least i do agree that you should take a long walk if you need to and then go to your local comic book retailer and demand that Batmanuel sells you a copy of the TPB.
Incidentally this story is seen though the eyes of a Cop on the beat rather than a photographer, it has been hinted (hell, not hinted, but acually said) that Kurt B. has used more ideas he originally had for Marvels 2 in an Astro City Story, see if you can guess which one.
Never the less this was an exellent find Boy Wonder, and the additional information that i have added is nothing more than a history lesson and one i feel needs to be recounted. its not the sort on in depth information you are going to find in Comics International now is it.
also its one up for the comic collector as this book is as far as i know not available as a Craphic Novel (and, the typo was intentional)
Robin The Boy Wonder
I do remember Code of Honor.
It was advertisted quite heavily in the back pages of Marvel's 1997 titles. I passed on it then as I had no money - and no job - so couldn't invest in anything beyond Spider-Man and X-Men. I daresay this particular title will see some recognition in the weeks and months to come - and quite likely as a TPB too.
I wonder if Whatever Comics has any copies left of the original series that a certain Boy Wonder may purchase? And yes, I do mean the full series.

Boy Wonder:
Quote:
and no job
What! Our Boy Wonder a penniless unemployed statistic? surely not, why how could that be? with all of you vast experience, and tiresome devotion to whatever task you set yourself how could have the employers of the world have over looked you? hell i would have given you a Job if you had asked, no money mind, just a job
As for the code of honor set, sorry, i may at best have the first or the last issue, but i dont have them all, well i do, BUT THEY ARE MINE...HAHA
