Well its here, The Dark Avengers has landed, so what do you think, read the Review here

Nice review. I like the concept of the twisted vision of the Avengers, but still have a hard time buying Osbourne's massive popularity.
The public knows Osbourne used to fly around New York on a metal bat throwing pumpkin bombs, right?

I haven't read Dark Avengers (yet); however, I always find it difficult to judge a title by only the first issue.
I'll give you an example. I remember reading the first issue of Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men and felt somewhat underwhelmed. Very little happened over the 22 pages beyond Kitty Pryde's return to the Xavier Institute and the debut of the team in their new costumes. Meh! was my initial thought. Fast forward nearly five years later and I would be very willing to put together a compelling argument as to why Whedon's X-Men run is the franchise's best ever.
I do have one concern regarding Dark Avengers; this being that it will be nothing more than a rip-off of Warren Ellis' Thunderbolts. I'd long since figured out that Moonstone was masquerading as Ms Marvel, Bullseye as Hawkeye, Draken as Wolverine, Venom as Spider-Man with the somewhat insane Norman Osborn garbing himself as Iron Patriot. This reeks of Bendis ripping off another's very good idea and then hiring the same artist who brought that classic interpretation to the masses - Michael Deodato.
Of course, if Bendis brings the same element of dark, mischievous fun with compelling insane character-driven storytelling to the table, then I quite likely won't care that I've seen it all before as I'll simply be enjoying it far too much.
I am concerned that he's recruited The Sentry, a promising character who Bendis has seriously watered-down since his earlier 'return' in New Avengers. I'm also surprised to learn that Ares is on the team and fully expected the latter to join the New Avengers (maybe he still will, who knows?).
I'm cautiously optimistic regarding Dark Avengers. I'm really looking forward to it; however, there is also potential for the title to fall dramatically on its face too. I'm sure Bendis has a plan for the title's first year and that, like Mighty Avengers post-Civil War, will tie-in very closely to New Avengers along the way (it's been suggested the two teams will rumble in NA 50).
In closing, I would like to just point out that Deodato has used Tommy Lee Jones' facial for Norman Osborn in Thunderbolts previously. Personally, I would prefer it if artists could do more than just steal the likeness of another to produce their product. Deodato is a personal favourite of mine and I was quite disappointed to see this last year. But that's another topic for another thread.
Of course, if Batmanuel hasn't put aside a copy of Dark Avengers aside for me, I will unleash the righteous hell of Iron Man's repulsors on him before hanging him upside down with some webbing. You have been warned...

ShitShitShitShit... Debe! Dark Avengers! Phil... did we do that, Phil who? you know Phil, as in Phil and Ann, Maidstone, Yes that Phil. you did, Phew, Thank fuck for that
Trust me though, this is no Thunderbolts rip off, its just that like the barmaid in the local reminds me of a horse but doesnt look like one, dark avengers reminded me of thunderbolts but was nothing like it.
all being well, and sides aside, i think that we could be in for a high octane ride here, and some new developments reveled in Secret Warrior's add to the mix, i am really looking forward to future issues.
Final Crisis has nothing on this.
