I'm going through Welcome Back Frank Punisher TPB, just started on the Daredevil Visionaries Vol 2 today and considering buying Bk 2 of Annihilation though that should wait till after my exams.

Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth.

I like it, but it's very odd, and for some reason I can't read read masses of it at once, which is a shame.

I believe my pull list currently consists of:

Countdown - Worth it if you like weekly books
Thunderbolts - Best team book at Marvel
JLA - Not essential but has an interesting roster
JSA - Best team book going. REALLY good.
Daredevil - Bit slow at the moment, the last couple of trades are a better place to start, but even when not on full form it's still better than most books out there.

Also got Booster Gold & World War Hulk (in preparation for when they come out)

I also tend to pick up Amazing, Nova and the two Avengers titles if they're in stock as well as the occasional Batman or Detective. Amazing isn't as good as the critics say it is (feels a bit like a poor mans Daredevil to me) but it's essential if you're a Spidy fan. The others I tend to read the reviews and decide then.

Oh and buy Essential Luke Cage.

Beautiful Losers, By Leonard cohen.
Found it in a second hand book shop, you cannot begin to understand that which is written here, but although i thought i had reached the depths of mental insanity, this book has shown me the way to true enlightenment and made me realise that i am in fact quite sane Sad

I have been getting a bit board with some of the stuff i have been reading, so have been experimenting a bit,
Picked up Hellblazer for the last 3 issues on a certain Rascals recommendation, used to read it years ago, and it was one of my favorites at the time, this title is really well and truly back on track, (good call Rascal)
Read the 1st two issues of Green Arrow Year One, Not bad quite good in fact.
and Batman Confidential Which i have reviewed.
Still picking up titles that i don't usually read, i will let you all know if i stumble across something stunning Smile
The Rascal King

'course it was a good call. You ever doubted me?

Currently ignoring everything except for The Dreaming Void. Meant to be published on Friday, but somehow I have it now. Its my favourite authors newest offering. Yippie!

Just read Criminal: Coward, and the new Harry Potter.

Still making my way through John Peel's autobiography, Derren Brown's latest book, Franny and Zooey, the Rough Guide to Conspiracy Theories, Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell.

Comic wise - I'm re-reading Identity Crisis, and am balls deep in World War Hulk, Silver Surfer Requiem, Thunderbolts and The Boys.
I'm really liking The Losers and Fables at the moment too.

Mmm not bad, theres hope for you yet Smile
The Rascal King

Johnny Strange and Mr Norell is a far better book about wizards.

And T-Bolts and The Boys are just great.

Got a truck load of comics from Sarah for my bday Very Happy So i've started piling through those.

Finished reading Punisher: Born yesterday, now the question I have about that is, is this voice that seems to be talking to Frank a sure sign of Multiple Personality Disorder or some sort of outside influence that can shape events?

So far I have read

Marvel What If? - Event Horizon
House of M - Wolverine
And I'm now on The Dark Knight Returns which so far is fantastic
Robin The Boy Wonder

At the moment, my main read has to be anything World War Hulk related.

It's good to read a nice, old-fashioned, Hulk Smash The Marvel Universe comic without getting warpped up in the politics that surround it. As much as I enjoyed Civil War, I think I can honestly say I'm enjoying World War Hulk more! Exclamation
Reaper

I wasn't sure if I liked the place they were taking it with #3 as they're about to turn Hulk into the Monster he's always professed he isn't (well kinda). Seems an odd curve to throw in seeing as the beginning of the story was making the Hulk a hugely sympathetic character, to change the audience view of him as sharply as I think they're looking for could be a potentially bad idea.
Robin The Boy Wonder

I've not read the third issue yet so it is difficult for me to comment but...

It was perhaps only ever going to be a matter of time before Hulk began regressing more toward his atypical characterisation as a 'monster' (I'm using the term loosely).

Consider the phrase 'The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets' for a moment; and then consider the level of resistance aimed toward the Hulk since his arrival on Earth. Iron Man. The Avengers. The Fantastic Four. General 'Thunderbolt' Ross. All they're really doing is making Hulk angrier and angrier - all he really wants is justice for those who died on Sakaar (and his dead wife, natch). The more angrier he becomes, the less 'in control' he becomes. He's no longer controlling his rage as well as he could at, say the beginning of WWH and perhaps therefore the 'inner beast' is starting to take over.

Let's also not forget that Hulk has never been this angry before.

Of course, I could very easily be talking a large pile of poo here; like I say, I've not read the issue so...
Reaper

The only thing that really shoots thast idea down is that he seems very much in control
kingmouse

I don't totally get WWH at the moment. Is the purpose of it to get as many Marvel characters as possible to use the phrase "He's never been this angry before"?

It's an ok read but there's not really much to it. But that's probably more because I've just never cared about the Hulk and I care about The Sentry even less. My only hope is that issue 5 will focus on amusing comentary by the Illuminati while the two of them knock each other sideways...although a mate of mine did suggest that Sentry might offer to help Hulk find a new homeland, leading to an amusing buddy comedy in space. Wink
Reaper

Hulk and Sentry buddy Monthly.... I'd buy it!

I have a feeling they keep making the characters repeat 'he's never been this angry before' because;

A) They want to drive that home so that it isn't just the standard Hulk smashing things escapade.

B) in case someone has only bought that issue and thus needs to be told because they can't work it out for themselves.
Xeall

Hulk smash puny human storyline with the same thing on a bigger scale we have always seen. As CapO said to me the other day, what matters is what the end result is and how it effects marvel. my hope is that tony stark gets forced to fight 'giant bottle of jack daniels man' that won't register.
Reaper

Followed by Vladimir Vodka Crusher!
Longshot

So is WWH at the moment basically Hulk Smash, but more realistic, in that he smashes everything, not just the unimportant stuff.
Reaper

Its more focused and aimed at certain people rather than just a standard Hulk rampage
