What is Control?
norsefire1
control is a biopic of the singer of one of the most awesome bands ever, joy division, who at the age of 23 took his own life. i belive it is based on a book which was penned by ian curtis wife as played by smantha morton in the movie.
Batmanual, have you seen 24 hr party people which covers (in part) the story of curtis.
waffle
Control is astonishingly good.
Reaper

Now you see, you have plummeted by about four thousand percent in my estimation for this statement,

Take it from one who knows.
one of the most original, darkest, primal, sounds ever.
Cat and Cynic, if you haven't heard of this band, go buy "Closer" put the head phones on, crank up the sound to the point just below that which would make your ears bleed, and prepare to be.....astonished.

Yeah - I like a bit of Joy Division. I remember hearing about this film being made now. We will check it out.
Kind of related (in that I could not find a proper section to mention this) is that yesterday we stumbled across an an exhibitin of Sid Vicious photography in Camden.
There was one picture that really took my breath away, I will see if there is a copy of it on the internet and post it here if I can. For now though, it is black and white and has Sid looking in prfile looking across the picture in a kind of confused way, all dressed in black with his black spiky hair, and Johnny looking straight out of the picture, shirtless, so completely white and almost ghostly, or angelic, apart from the round black circles of his sun glasses. All against a pure black background.
It is quite small but there are some great pictures, and I think it is on for another month. There is a stage in the gallery as well so it looks like there would be music on a night.
If anyone in London wants to go it is in the Stables Market in Camden.I think it was on for about another month.
