Children of the Stones70s children's tv show set around a village inside a stone circle dealing with freewill, assimilation, time loops and astro-physics! (No dumbing down in them days)
I've just watched the whole thing on DVD. I couldn't remember much about it except I loved it and was terrified of it in equal measure.
Not surprising - it's really dark and creepy and has a nasty wailing soundtrack. Kind of like a Wicker Man for children. They would never let this be shown to kids now.
Well worth a look if you see it around.
Anyone else seen / remember it?

No i cant say that i do, but by what you have said about it i am thinking that maybe i just might like too.
But you are right about the kids of today comment, Heaven forbid we should upset there tender sensibilities, political correctness has gone mad.
Why i can remember when Parker would be smoking in the kitchen with the cook on his break, you wouldn't see that today.

They've been scared of upsetting childrens tender sensibilities for years. I remember at school the teachers didn't like to correct the childrens bad spelling in it 'demoralised them'. My parents were having none of that and told them it was stupid and then promptly corrected all my spelling mistakes.

Just as well really, as the child would have probably stabbed or shot the teacher for correcting him / or her makes you wonder who they are trying to protect in this nanny state.

the only people that are protected in a state like that is the people who set it up.

It has the same kind of creepy feel as Sapphire and Steel or old Brtish horror films like The Shout.

Maybe if they spent some of the billions that are going towards setting up a 2 week sports day in 2012 to trying to solve some of the deprivation in the country....no, what am I thinking of....
