I've been away from the forum for a bit recently, and I see that when that happens it is the done thing to announce your triumphant return!
So this is what has happened to me and Cy:
Non-comics
* We celebrated 16 glorious years together
* We have been playing rockband and Fallout 3 obessively
* I really hurt my back, for no discernable reason, I just woke up one morning and couldn't hardly move at all, and had no feeling in my left leg.Very, very scary. The doctor thought I might have slipped a disc, but it was just a massive muscle spasm that had pulled my spine so far out of line it was compressing the nerves to my leg. It is slowly getting better, but apparently "can just happen".

Insomnia Stuff
Just before I went quiet I think I announced that I am helping out Insomnia as Creative Director I have:
*worked on their contracts with them to make sure Insomnia is a truly creator focussed company
*Signed up some really fantastic talent for books coming out in 2009 / 2010 including:
Graphic Novels / albums
Cancertown (well, this was already signed, but volume 2 has been agreed as well)
Vince Morley is a man with big problems and a brain tumour like a baby's fist, living with one foot in a monstrous alternate world he calls Cancertown. When the lost and dispossessed of London start tripping over the same cracks in reality he spends his life avoiding, Morley realises he must confront the residents of Cancertown - and risk finding his place among them.
Cages by Xander Bennet and Mel Cook (with foreword by Ben Templesmith, no less, who I got to meet)
What if you’d spent your whole life in a cage, never glimpsing the world outside? What if everything you knew was darkness, fear and cold, clinical steel? What if one day, an angel came to you with a message of hope – a message that you were about to be set free?
Unbelievable by Simon Wyatt (lettered by me). Siomn just won an art challenge judged by Stan Lee himself!
The remote mining village of Bryn Boncath has its share of stories, of local
legends, of half believed histories. It is a close knit community, with
closely guarded secrets. Strands of Welsh legend, modern murder mystery woven with horror and a dash of crytozoology ask What if seeing isnt always believing, but believing will allow you to see?
Burke and Hare by Martin Conaghan and Will Pickering
Over a 12 month period from 1827-1828 in Edinburgh, Scotland, two Irishmen by the names of William Burke and William Hare murdered 16 people and disposed of their bodies to the eminent dissectionist Dr Robert Knox at 10 Surgeons Square. Delve into the murky, misquoted history of Scotlands most notorious serial killers with a research-based graphic novel that unwravels a ghoulish story of medicine, murder and money.
Daemon by Alasdair Duncan and Daniel Lopez
Revenge is not sweet. Revenge is not simple. Revenge is complicated. Very complicated.
Shaman by Xander Bennet and David Montoro
In 1838, the last Cherokee Shaman watches as his people are forced from their ancestral land. He travels east, seeking a meeting with the cheif of all white men - the President of the United States of America.
The Ragged Man (I didn't sign this one as it is too close to me, but it should be in the upcoming list)
Oz: The Fall of the Scarecrow King by Peter Forbes
Daemon by Alasdair Duncan and Daniel Lopez (lettered by me as well)
Shiver by Christopher Barker
Average Joe by Thomas Romeo and Kelvin Chan
These will all get blog features on them soon.
And several more "in the works" as they say
Short Story books

MILK by Stref
Visuals that will blow you away...

Novel Adaptations
Fallen Heroes by Barry Nugent (Barry is the author of the novel and one half of the Geek Syndicate, the comic team is just being put together)
*Got the [url=http://theredeyed.blogspot.com/2008/11/nightly-news.html=Layer Zero[/url] anthology title up and running to a regular schedule with some new and some familiar faces - the next one is Choices, followed by Survivors.
If there's anyone on here, writers or artists with something to show me have a look at the short story and album subs pages on the blog
*Trying to organise a revolution in the way publishers, readers, creators and retailers can "take back" the industry for themselves and make it work they way they need it to.
*Working on some quilt / textile art ideas for Ferret
So, you see I have been a busy girl.
Reaper
Welcome back! Your back problem sounds very similar to something happened to Sarah. One of the muscles in her right shoulder decided to go into spasm at the start of our degree exams, so she spent two weeks propped up in bed trying to ignore the pain while revising. Not real idea why it did it, it just did. Damn human bodies!
