No, I'm not retiring; but it's all kicking off this week (again)!
Ann is due to have her gall bladder removed tomorrow. Hopefully, if all goes well (and provided she only needs keyhole surgery), she should be home sometime Wednesday. If, however, Ann needs open surgery to remove her gall stones, it's likely she'll be in hospital until the end of the week.
Next Monday, we complete (hopefully - anything can happen in the next seven days) on the purchase of our new home, a three bedroom house in Sittingbourne. We're planning to move into our new home on 3rd October.
We still haven't sold our current house and plan to lease the property out for at least the next three years. I'm planning more, say, 10. Ann though has only just come around to the idea of renting and had hoped to sell. Quite simply, given the condition of the current market, if we were to sell now, we would likely make only a small profit on the house. Another six months and I daresay we would be entering the dark realm of negative equity.
The point of my post here is just to let you know I won't be around that much for the next month or so. I do plan on answering the occasional post; maybe even rant a little but I have to be realistic and place my family ahead of the forum.
I'm still weighing up the pros and cons of whether or not the family come ahead of the comics... could be an idea for a poll, I guess...

A quick update.
The operation was a complete success.
Ann was first into the operating theatre this morning and she needed only keyhole surgery too. To complete our hat-trick, Ann was let home earlier this evening as she'd completed her six hours post-op without any problems.
Ann's slightly tender now... and in bed!.
To be honest, I'm not sure the day could have gone any better!

Well, rather than start another new thread, I thought I'd just continue with this one here.
We completed on our new house last Monday and, so far at least, everything has gone really, really well. No matter what happens, we'll be moving in this coming Friday, 3rd October.
However, as we're in the process of changing TV & Phone providers, this means we're also changing our Internet provider... and this means I'll be spending some time away from the forum for the foreseeable future.
Hopefully, I'll be back online before the end of October (if all goes according to plan). So... this is farewell... for now.
I guess this means the forum's unanimous on Spider-Man and Civil War for the next few weeks...

Well to quote the Boy Wonder, rather than start a new thread i may as well use this one to apologize for being absent,
yes i have been away from the forum for a while, i have been away from computing for a while except for the most important and the briefest of things.
Why? Well.
Remember i said my PlayStation thumb was broken, well i have now had surgery on it, apparentally it got locked up while healing and the only way to release it was to cut it open and have a little play,
I asked the surgeon before being admitted, now are you absolutely sure that this is necessary, yes he said.
I the asked, so there is absolutely no way this will correct itself on its own then.

Bollocks i said under my breath.
So off to theatre i went, the nurse said, this wont hurt a bit, and the effects of the general will feel like you have drunk a half bottle of wine,
It will take more than a half bottle of wine to put me out i thought.
and the next thing i remember was being woken up and being asked if i was OK, i replied yes thank you, any chance of some Fish & Chips? i then remarked how beautiful i thought the nurse was, about a five minutes later i thought, i didn't just think that out loud did i?
Dammit, i think i did, now fully awake i realised that the nurse was not as lovely as i had first thought while in the twilight zone, and the ham sandwich i was given although very nice, was not anything like Fish and Chips.
So there you have it, back to work the next day, but with hand bandaged and stitched, light duties for a week or so, and stitches out in a couple.
Hope to be back more regularly.

Well i thought i'd post it under the retire section as it seems to fit.
I have been away a very long time and not happy about it either. I have assume i have made one manny very angry in my absence (this is physically and not just on the website). I have been through an awful lot of personal and finacial problems, if i could use the term 'I have been mind raped' and have only just recovered (ish)
I didnt go in and tell either debes or manny nor anyone else what was going on and i think this to be unfair to two people who have always looked out for me in the past, as im sure they have been reserving my comics as always and now wondering if im ever coming back.
Short answer, yes i am, with money to pay for every single one of those comics you put aside for me, however from there on i will be cutting my list down dramically until i can find a reliable source of income.
I am now a student studying crime and policing to further a career i simply gave up on and will recieve a student loan which will hold me out for some time, but not forever. The situation is bad enough for me to move back to my parents in the new year just to get a financial grounding again.
Lets put this into persective, i was in full time employment as a chef again, doing 50+ hours a week, very nice im sure you will agree. Suddenly head office f***'s up the bussiness and im on 4-8 hours a week with bills and rent to pay. No where is hiring and im screwed.
Being a very stuborn person i did not want to tell anyone how bad this has got, but it has and manny should have an explination as i know he has been holding comics for me. This is my public apology to a man that has always been good to me.
Im sorry. Ill see you the second i get my student loan within the next few weeks and i shall pay upfront for everything

No mate im doing it at canterbury, different course sort of but the same teachers. Ive now seen manny personally and he was more concerned about how i was than the comics. Thats the kinda friend you want from a comic book store owner. Addmittedly i did come bearing £100, after selling a load of my unwanted things, which would make anyone happier. soon to be upto date with everything so expect MORE FROM THE MARVEL WHORE SOON!
