[box] fresh (my movie)Hey dudes,
Here's a quick linky to my new short film: http://youtube.com/watch?v=IaXBVSnCJa8
Made it for the 2 Days of Laughter Film festival where it did rather well, so I'm hoping to start work on more episodes later in the year. If nothing else making it led to Waffle and I rather bizarly meeting in a victorian theater, so it's clearly good for something.
Hope y'all enjoy.

That was bluddy good. Funny and off key.
Reminds me of early adam and joe, wich it definietly a compliment.
Nice to see the uni in there too, makes me miss it.

It was easily one of the better offerings at the festival.
Plus - it generated the most complaints! (the blind freerunners).
Although it was closely followed by a gag about Parkinson's disease in another film.
Some people have no sense of humour. And at a comedy festival of all things!
I see what you mean about Adam and Joe, Longshot - although I see much more Chris Morris in it than anything else.
Kingmouse - did you see the pre-piece about 2 Days Laughter I put the KM What's On magazine a couple of weeks ago? I used a screenshot from [box]fresh...

Outstanding.
The bit about Big Bird cracked me right up.
Give me more, dammit!
(CatFang liked it too)

Yeah, I've got a copy of it in my room. Thanks man. Do you know if there's gonna be a review of the festival published anywhere?
Did we really get complaints? I'm rather chuffed about that. The gag was more poking fun at the absurdity of the concept rather than actually laughing at disability. I actually found the Chav one and Welcome to Margate to be more offensive since their jokes basically consisted of laughing at poor people and the homeless for no artistic reason. But then I just don't like chav jokes.

Excellent stuff.
It made us laugh out loud.
I really liked the blind free running - but then maybe I have a sick mind and so should never be given the respoonsibility of being a judge at a comedy festival
My other favourite bit was the comment about it being two hours of silence ovelayed with a soundtrack (I know that is not an exact quote but I am at work so can't play it to get one!)
Agree with Waffle about the Chris Morris thing. I mean this as the highest praise. If you can generate as many complaints as he does you will know you have really made it. What you really need, for the best publicity, is to get banned and only be available through "underground sources"
Good old UKC - the perfect place for blind (drunken) free running!
Do you have links to any other stuff you've done?

I dunno if all of these will work, you may need to add me on facebook or something but tis worth a shot (Can't upload some of the older ones to youtube because of copywright issues). These are all old ones that I made myself over the past few years, the quality isn't as good as [box] fresh and some of the gags have aged a bit, but there's some ok stuff in there I guess. We've got a little production company set up now so hopefully the stuff from now on is gonna be better and better. Thus far we're planning a series of [box] and a monster movie, so I'll keep you posted on how those go. Anyway:
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=20260920168 - I did a stand up show about the Iraq war back in 2006, it was part of my research project about the way comedy and political activism can overlap. The show itself wasn't great (though I did cause a couple of Americans to kick off because I slagged of Regan) but this was the entrance video at the start of it which is pretty cool. The video quality is kinda ropey but I'm kinda proud of the duff special effects.
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=19903760168 - Monkey Aid. This one's a bit out of date now, basically back when they did the dreadful live 8 reworking of "Do They Know it's Christmas?" I was with a comedy group called Monkeyshine and we made our own spoof of it which we used to raise money for charity.
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=19975985168 - Live at Yuk Yuks. Not really a movie persay, just film of me doing Stand Up in Calgary a couple of years back.
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm...ids.individual&VideoID=116639 - Stillframe animation that I did for the Liecester Comedy Festival last year. The audio quality is crappy (I was pressed for time so I recorded the audio on a dictaphone in a quiet part of a public library) but there's a couple of good lines.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mZgnsgMApY - Live @ Comedy Brewhouse. Recent stand up gig I did in Islington. That's pretty close to what my regular set is at the moment with the exception that the US elections material is a bit more developed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sh9xYzmguTw - [box] fresh out takes. I really just made this for the cast and crew to have a laugh at but I'm kinda pleased with the editing, considering I knocked it up in about 20 mins I think it came out quite well.

I'm not sure if there's going to be a review of the fest. I'm sure someone somewhere will be putting one online, I'll ask around dude.
Yep - there honestly were complaints, so well done you! I think the moans came from people who didn't understand you were poking fun at the concept rather than simply poking fun at the blind, and that'd be because they are fckn morons.
