Must have played the damn game for about 7 hours yesterday. Do love it but the graphics kinda stop impressing you after a while. I put blue dragon in my machine and i have to say i nearly didn't play bioshock it was that good.
Big daddy's can suck my boomstick (loaded with electric shells)

Worst goddamn ending ever!! Last half of the game was so badly done.
Oh well 39 out of 50, 725 achievement points. Thats without looking at them, should have cos there are 3 more i could have easily got in the last section.

It's been a while since I've seen a game get reviews as good as this accross the board. Been pumped for it for a while but I've promised myself I'll finish playing through the Halflife games first.

As i said its great for the first half, really make you feel involved and then it seems to just trail off, followed by the worst ending ever, jean grey coming back again would be more exciting than that ending. I'm a little miffed. Word of advice, the swarm plasmid is crap until you can get the level 3 version, then it will be the greatest thing you've ever had.

Well 2K Games have managed to piss off atleast half of the PC players out there. They decided they were going to force the game to use Pixel Shader V3.0, most cards from the end of 2005 back don't support higher than 2.0 so this means anyone using a card that doesn't support 3.0 can't play Bioshock at ALL.
The stupid thing is, that the game doesn't really need 3.0 to display all its loveliness and the Unreal 3 engine which Bioshock is based on supports PS 2.0.
Sooooo a few groups have sprung up to hack the Bioshock shader files so that they will work with 2.0 graphics cards.
Just thought I'd post this if anyone is interested. If people want to know how to get it to work, let me know and I'll find the appropriate link.

yes updating your pc, with a new graphics card that costs as much as a ps3 or patching it for 3 hours, or maybe with bioshock waiting 4 hours because the server went down to register your game and you can't play it without registering.
Yes pc's own consoles.......

Very true the PC does suffer from those problems but then consoles have their own disadvantages.
For one FPS' suck on a console, the controls are cack and the games are made a crap load easier to accommodate that fact.
PCs maybe expensive to keep up to date but then they're always at the cutting edge of tech, consoles after a couple of years start to show their age and can't be upgraded except to the next iteration which isn't guaranteed to play their old games.
PCs also have enough great games available that you don't need to go to multiple consoles to find a game worth playing.
Internet gaming is still better on the PC, there is far more you can do with it than on a console and then theres the fact that you can customise and create addon packs for a game with the power of the PC but alas not the console.

Your point is well made but some are remaining other becoming redundent and one being plain wrong.
1. Analog sticks in fps are a case of what your used to, yes i can use a keyboard and mouse and god they are needed for RTS (you hear me microsoft, you put usb ports on the 360 for a reason), however i have proved time and time again versus pc players using a 360 controller, i can own them. Shadowrun being the prime example, then battlefield being the other.
2. Yes consoles become out of date but not as quickly as a graphics card, i am assurded 5 years out of a console and developers don't push past what a console can do until the last year (cos sony,nintendo and microsoft pay them not to)
3. Yes online still remains a prob, 360 live is good. Playstation network is ok, but they are updating with 'home' which could in all probablity create the best online system ever....or suck giant balls. Add on packs are still a prob...ish. F.e.a.r and C&C3 are releasing their expainsons on consoles but as stand alone games so you don't need the original (ha ha). Also games like oblivion have downloadable content instead of having to buy expansions like you did on pc.

Beating them might not be too hard if they're a far less experienced player than you, either that or you're plain weird Saying that I have no idea what the gameplay is like on Shadowrun though from experience games like Quake 3, CounterStrike on consoles, the console players couldn't keep up with the PC players.

Though I'm not surprised you said 360, it's got one of the best controllers i've used in regards to analog stick. PS2s were a bit crap but the best is still N64.

Its better than you intially think, alot of depth if people realise it. for once having a mixture of classes is almost esential. download a demo before you buy, its not everyones cup of tea

I checked around for a demo on the PC and there isn't one!!! Just not good enough, and its not like I can buy the game and return it if I don't like it because its an online game and most people won't take it back.
