BBCs Spooks

Anyone else besides me watch this fantastic program? Caught the first two eps of series 6 this week and am pretty impressed so far.
norsefire1

i do indeed watch it and yes it is indeed awesome although i got to say for me the first 2 seasons where the best. i will end up geting it all on dvd at one point.
Reaper

They're normally doing a lot of them fairly cheaply at random points in the year. What did you think to the start of this series?
Robin The Boy Wonder

Watched the first episode.

Bloody brilliant.

I'll comment more later when I'm not trying to keep Eliot off the keyboard.

the new season looks to be ace and shapeing up to be another great season, i really do think it can go toe to toe with any us made "spy" t.v show. with that said i dont think iam going to be to keen on section Ds new recruit, connie???
Reaper

Does seem a little odd to re-recruit an old woman. Though it makes a small amount of sense because Harry will know shes not a government stooooge. Bring back Zoe!
norsefire1

yeah the whole connie thing is a little strange but if played right could be quite cool. yeah bring back zoe...we should start to get on to the bbc about putting her back in the show Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Laughing
Reaper

Especially if they involve a nude scene similar to that in Complicity Shocked

new spin off show, spooks code 9, starts sunday 10th august at 9 on bbc3 and is a double bill.
Robin The Boy Wonder

I'm not too sure on Spooks: Code 9.

I like the premise behind the series but I'm not sure on where I stand with the younger cast. I guess I can see the logic but I'm a tad concerned the series is being given its debut on the BBC's 'yoof' channel.
Batmanuel

just watched the Sunday double bill and it has to be said it was all a bit naff, Debe is a big Spooks watcher, and even she said "its not very good is it, and the reason its on the BBC yoof channel as the Boy Wonder so eloquently pointed out is because the entire cast are all about 14 - 17 years old, well at least thats how it seems, maybe it should have been slotted before 6 0 clock for maximum impact.
Reminded me of the Thunderbirds film, but spooks its not, not by a long shot.

When is the real Spooks back on?
Robin The Boy Wonder

I would guess the real Spooks will return mid-to-late September. Personally, I can't wait.

I watched Spooks: Code 9.

Admittedly, it is a fantastic premise. A nuclear bomb at the opening of the 2012 London Olympic Games devastates London and the surrounding areas; not only because of the initial blast itself but also due to the fall-out. MI5 has to rebuild itself from scratch and does so in Northern England with a newer, younger generation of 'spooks', a set that's ill-equipped to deal with a newer, younger generation of terrorists.

Fantastic premise. Poorly executed.

The first episode was quite good. Decently acted with some particularly tense scenes; one that established a tone and delivered the somewhat typical twist (although very unexpected, imo). Of course, it tried too hard to be hip and trendy, appealing to the 'yoof' audience and it all looked cheaply made. Dimly lit sets, erratic camera angles and some questionable direction left me feeling that this really was a poor man's spooks.

But it had potential so I stayed for the second episode.

And then had a very good night's sleep. Twas boring. It gave me the reason I needed to not tune in next week. Cheap. Cheap. Cheap.

Ah well, roll on September!
