The Rascal King

I'd watch it, but Sky is a luxury that I unfortunatly cannot afford.

Its on Freeview, and that hardly costs anything [about £15 for the box] and you get loads of wonderfull channels, such as E4 +1, channel +1, ITV2 +1, about 6 home shopping channels ohh it is wonderfull.

So did anyone watch it in the end. I personally loved it, I thought it was actually really well shot considering.
Everyone seemed to really enjoy talking about it, and it gave a totally different angle on things that I had never seen. Looking forwards to the one in 2 weeks on Viz and 2000AD as ive just started to get into 2000AD and it should be quite interesting.
I thought the fact that they know the medium has lost its steam but they still do it, same is true of the editorials in 2000AD.
Im just about to go down and watch the episode of Batman theyre showing, that show rocked when I was younger, I wonder if it still will.

I saw this and as expected from most BBC documentaries, I thought it was excellent, with great contributions from those behind the comics, as well as fans like Nick Park and Kevin O'Niell.
Don't forget Jonathan Ross In Search of Steve Ditko either.

Fraid not, Im not that big a fan of Spidey, and watching Ross run around didnt appeal to me too much. Was it any good??? did he find him???
Will be watching tonights Boys and Girls, even if this is the one that I can see being the worst. We shall see.

It was shame you missed it because it had some great input from Alan Moore, Joe Quesada, Mark Millar, Stan Lee and Neil Gaiman amongst others. As well as looking at Spider-Man, it looked at Doctor Strange and some of Ditko's other creations, The Question, Hawk and Dove and best of all, Mr A (who I'd never heard of before) - who rather heavily influenced Rorschach in Watchmen.
It also looked at creative differences with Marvel and Ditko's politics.
I'm sure it will be repeated and it's well worth scanning the listings to catch it again.

That sound alot more interesting than I expected it to, if it is repeated I may well watch it.

Another well made episode, but the comics looked at weren't ones that I read when I was kid. Looking forward to next weeks episode.

Really enjoyed this weeks epidode. Having never read any of those comics I still found it very interesting.
Next weeks should rule, but its on 1030 I wonder why??? I hope it helps educate me as I know near enough nothing at the moment about 2000AD.
I'm guessing it will toutch on british righters going stateside too, as there do seem to be a noticable number.

Did anyone see the last show, which talked about Viz, Judge Dredd, V For Vendetta, Watchmen, and Lost Girls.
I did think that a segment about Lost Girls was strange (aside from the subject matter), given that it's not being published in the UK.

I thought there was a bit too much on moore, not saying anything against him, but there are other british people doing work over in the US at the moment, there always has been. way back from claremont taking over X-men to Garth Ennis, Warren Ellis and Mark Miller still being some of the big hitters in comics these days.
Add to that the fact that they, in my opinion, didnt toutch enough on 2000AD, could have at least mentioned other characters more
But I did love the whole thing, so never mind.

I think the focus was on comics published in the UK, rather than UK talent working on US comics.

Thats what I thought, but neither Lost Girls or Watchmen were, thats what I found annoying about it.

Maybe as Alan Moore is firmly based in Britain, you can stretch the definition of "British" comic somewhat even if publication is outside the UK.
