Again, I got bored the other day, and started flicking through the Alluc archives, to find something to watch. I decided to give Full Metal Alchemist a try, on my friends continuous reccomendation.
HOLY MOTHER OF WOW is it good!
What does anyone else watch, if anything? I've heard good things about Naruto.

Ghost in the Shell (stand alone complex) is significantly better then the films. A very intelligent and well done anime, an absolute must see.
The films be ok - but not up to the standard of the series. There is a lot more of it on youtube then alluc will have you believe - but it is all the subtitled stuff, as they have been working quite hard to remove all english versions.

other anime i watch is generally films, so Howls moving castle, Blood the last vampire, Akira, Appleseed and a few others - but not got much of a collection.

Its cool, I'm watching the Sub'd versions. The friend of mine whos a BIG anime fan yells at me for watching dub'd anime.

i'm divided on the whole dub't vs not thing.

prefer not dubbing on movies, but since i brought Ghost in the Shell 1st Gig in the english dub't version i'm used to it, and so i find the original voices a bit weird if i watch them on youtube.

english dubbing does change the whole feel of something, but makes a bit easier to watch with mates.

First things I watched were dubbed DBZ and Sailor Moon, as well as some other stuff, so with those, I'm more used to the original voices. When I saw some older dubbed stuff, and then some subbed stuff of DBZ, it really threw me with the original voices, like you say.
But now that I've seen a couple of seasons of FMA in Japanise, and I saw a bit of the dubbed version, I prefer the original.

Weeee, have finished FMA, thanks to a (possibly ill advised) all nighter. I also downloaded the Movie during the night, which was also very good.
Going to make moves now on either Naurto or Bleach.
Or one, then the other.

finished FMA in an all-nighter? ummm spot the undergrad Rolling Eyes

FMA is not half bad, took me about 5 episodes to get into it as it is very very manga like in style of delivery/charector emotions but thumbs up. just about to leisurely finish season 1.

still gonna have to recomend GITS to you - though not the kind of think to watch when your sleepy, you are gonna need your brain cells to keep up with this little thinker.

it's not bad as a general thing to watch to pass the time. though i wasn't sure about it till about episode 5 then it got a bit more interesting.

If I was gonna recommend anything I'd say watch Dragonball One Piece, Bleach and Naruto

Cowboy BeBop is where it's at. I mean, it's a space-bounty-hunter, comedy, noir, love story with explosions. What's not to like?

Outlaw Star is kinda funny as well. But it's been ages since I watched it and it was almost always after getting in from the pub, so it may not be as good as I'm making out.

I'm hooked on Naruto at the moment, like Kate Moss is hooked on crack.
For serious, I have to get up early, because there isn't time enough in the day.

Watch Hellsing! When i finished it i thought the series could be made into 2 films quite easily and be awesome!

Also check out Trigun, western in space (not quite cowboy bebob), takes a while but once your in, the first few episodes become good!

Naruto, Rascal, is the killer of sleep. I watched 20 episodes a night for a week. All i could do after was shout rasengun at anyone who annoyed me. Worked, those strangers sure can run.

I can honestly say that although I kinda enjoy anime the only thing I have watched properly is Cowboy BeBop and thats not even all of it. But boy did that rock my socks.

Ive heard of berserk but cant be bothered to read it *ducks thrown objects* heh im currently reading about seven different manga already. YAY MULTI TASKING.

Although Berserk does sound and look teh awsome!
