Anyone heard of this?
Essentially, it's someone claiming to be a low level employee at Marvel Comics in New York (a copy boy or some such, I believe, though the level of access he has would suggest higher). This guy was blogging on LiveJournal, initially of how psyched he was to get a job at the comics giant, and later with anger at some of the stories coming out of there and how no one will listen to his ideas. In his rage, he started posting pics and spoilers of upcoming projects.

There was some speculation that he was a plant and this is a publicity stunt...however, the things he is leaking, and when, are a little foolish to be a controlled leak. Also, his LJ was taken down and there are rumours of a witch hunt within Marvel looking for him.

He is, however, back. And has even salvaged much of his LJ blog. You can now find him here

Now, not being a Marvel fan myself, I don't know of how much he's said has actually come to pass, but aparently, some of this stuff is spot on.

But Warning! There are dirty great spoilers in that blog!
Just so you know.

Quote from Marvel B0y:

Daredevil - ...unless Quesada approves Brubaker doing that Mila-becomes-the-new-Typhoid-Mary storyline he keeps talking about

I chuckled when i read this, because it illustrates just how absurd the whole Jackpot BND thing really is.
and then i whimpered in fear, as i realised that JQ is still Marvel Chief, and if he reads this, he will probably think its a good idea.

Ha!  I like this guy or girl especially if they are predicting Joe Q being evicted from the Marvel house.

Interesting...

...but I really don't see anything there that I hadn't already worked out for myself.

If he really is as credible as he claims, then he should be able to post something that no one, and I do mean no one, outside of Marvel should ever be able to figure out. And, quite simply, he hasn't.

So Marvel have a distinct 70's vibe to Secret Invasion, do they? Well, duh! Bendis is an unapologetic 70's fan (as is Quesada, incidentally). It stands to reason that the storyline Bendis has been generating since his first issue of New Avengers would take us along that route.

It was Bendis who had Carol Danvers re-named to her original moniker of Ms Marvel. It was Bendis who placed Luke Cage front and centre within New Avengers. It was Bendis who placed Iron Fist in the New Avengers. There's a common theme here.

Oh, so another third-tier character is going to die. Yawn! Tell us another one. Big storyline? Check! Third-tier character death? Check! See Civil War.

As for Brubaker's apparent plan to have Milla be a modern-day variant on the Typhoid Mary theme. Why wouldn't it work? In comics, there is no such thing as a bad idea (Jackpot included); only poor execution. As an example, how would another writer have handled the return of a certain individual who now sports the Captain America costume (Bucky)?

No, this doesn't impress me at all; and, if it is true that this is a disgruntled employee of Marvel's then he should be ashamed at glorifying his own self-importance for the whole internet to see. It doesn't matter whether or not he has good or bad ideas; if he wants to affect proper change, posting snarky comments on the internet about his employer is not the way to go. Perhaps he should try concentrating his efforts on his career, and fulfilling whatever potential he has, before wasting everybody's time by drawing attention to his own self-important indulgences.

Ah - that is exactly what I was going to say, RobinTBW!

I think if this was internal to Marvel and was not "authorised leaking" as part of a PR stunt they would not find him hard to track down.

Given that the whole thrust of Marvel's new event is "who do you trust" then I could see it being marketing.

Actually - even if it wasn't an internal plan if I worked for marketing in Marvel I would let this go as the viral buzz about it is great. All the more people talking about my comics. "But, "you may say, "the internet is saying bad things about them". "Yes", I would reply, "but look how bad the bitching was about OMD and that apparently just made more people buy it to see what the fuss was about." so I would get a load of free exposure.

As you said, there is nothing really that could not be harvested from the internet by someone with too much time on their hands.

However the thing that really makes me not believe it is not someone with "secret knowledge" is the stuff about Joe Quesada. If someone of that kind of level is even leaving, letting alone being sacked, there is no way that just general employees would know about it.
