Here's an idea; what if Marvel created a self-contained series in which Peter Parker turned down Mephisto's deal to revive Aunt May? Stripped of a necessity to maintain a status quo, this series could then make dramatic developments that ultimately distinguish a new, older Spider-man from the young adult he still is after Brand New Day.
If such a series was real, would you support it? What direction would you like to see come out of it?
I'd support it and then ask Marvel to take their thumbs out of their arses return it to Amazing Spider-Man where it should be.
Direction wise I think the first thing would be to kill off Aunt May and then find a new bad guy that spider-man has difficulty tracking for some reason.
