Is anyone planning on going to the big (well, for the UK!) convention in Bristol in May?
I know it seems early days but these things book up
The website for the event is really rubbish - but don't let that put you off. We have always had a really good time there.
A word of advice if you are going and staying overnight. The Holiday Inn Express is right in the middle of both venues (across the road from the dealers mart, and just 5 minutes from the Ramada) and is much cheaper. It's nice enough as well. Also it is worth booking advance train tickets - you are stuck with a particular train but it means it costs you about £17 return if I remember, rather than about £50.
Hopefully Layer 0 volume 2 (with art by me and a story by Cy) will be out for sale there as well - yay! Cy will be on the Markosia stand for some of the time as well probably if you want to come by and say Hi.
A fun day out for all the family..... except me!!!
The logistics (not to mention cost) involved of getting three kids and a wife to Bristol to see a comic convention that they are not that interested in seeing (even though we all know they would really enjoy themselves when they got there) are the kind of thing that keeps me awake at night sobbing to myself!!!

Surely a case for the Whatever Comics Magical Mystery Tour.
You could all go together in a bus with your favourite characters painted on the side and sing all the way to Bristol.
"Hey kids...we could have the musical RIGHT HERE!!"
...and that is why we have not spawned any money-sucking mini-mes. They would touch our comics and our precious toys with their nasty sticky fingers and cause us to be selfless and broke.
Also I've watched Alien. I know what happens. _________________
A note for anyone thinking of going to the Bristol Con - the Ramada (the convention hotel) is already booked up (mostly due to there being another convention in the building on the same weekend).
We have just booked our room in the Holiday Inn down the road and already the cheapest rooms (usually around £60 - 65) seem to be gone - best price now is £79 per night for a double with breakfast (which is still not bad, it has to be said). _________________
I would really loved to be able to go, but alas, due to work commitments and other stuff, i will not be attending.... sigh, i remember the ukcak well, if only i could turn the clock back now _________________
But I will try and bring you back a treasure, like we planned...you just need to keep the time lines and dimensions in alignment for me to get a chance to nip in and out before the worlds collide...
