So that now the Joss Whedon run has finished with Giant Size Astonishing X-Men 1, what do we all think?

Did it live up to the hype?  Was the end a good one or has it already been technically undone because we what Marvel are like and because of X-Men: The End?

I thought that it was brilliant.

And its not over. Its mearly moving on, to a different author.

I would understand people being wary of that, with the hight standard of writing that Whedon has been gifting the book with these past 4 years, but hell, its Ellis taking over.

I will let you know when i have read the final part.
Warren Ellis next, wouldn't it be cool if he did as good a job on it as he has done on the Thunderbolts.
and blow the Whedon's run outta the cave Smile

Sad to say that I havent actually read any of astonishing yet, I missed the begining so never got into it. However I am thinking of diving in now that it is 'over'.

Anything important/really exciting happen in the end.

What I meant could you give me a general idea of what happened, is there anything that will effect the rest of the x-men.

Is giant size a good jump on point??? I might just replace young which I pick up due to messiah, for this which is clearly going to be better.

Yup.

Lets just say you should read it, or you'll be a might confused as to where one of them has dissappeared to.

Lets assume that I have absolutely no access to the comics [which I don't] and that I have no time to read a 24 issue arc [which I don't] to understand one comment. If things get too confusing I'm sure theyll just retcon it away.

That's not the only reason to read it.  It's a good series and very well handled just a shame a two year run took four.
